I really think itll be hard for a president candidate to be elected if he/she is gonna try and get rid off all the guns. Specially now when theres terrorists around everywhere it seems.

I don't think anyone's talking about getting rid of the guns in Iraq. How many terrorist attacks have been carried out on US soil in the last 10 years? How many could have been stopped by....

1 - People with handguns on their nightstand
2 - People with concealed carry permits
3 - People just strolling down main street with a chain gun slung over their sholder like some kind of urban terminator

Terrorist attacks are quiet, subversive, and stealthy. Terrorists (except the ones in Teeth of the Tiger) don't just burst into a public place and start shooting at people.

Gun control is a real issue, and one for which there are many good arguments on both sides of the fence. Terrorism started out as a real issue, but has turned into a red herring to keep people frightened and voting a certain way.

If we're going to have a gun control discussion - by all means let's do it. But leave terrorism out of it -- terrorist are stopped by other means.

Gun control boils down to this.

Pro Gun Control: You don't need to have guns. The government will protect you. Legal gun ownership makes it easier for criminals to get guns and puts everyone else at risk.

Anti Gun Control: You need guns because the government may fail to protect you or you may need to protect yourself from the government. Making guns illegal won't make it harder for criminals to get guns because criminals dont' have much respect for the law anyway.

For an interesting take on Gun Control, among other topics, I suggest that everyone watches a few episodes of "Penn and Teller: Bullshit". It's on Showtime, and has been going on for about 3 seasons. It's a really cool show, which basically calls the "bullshit" of a lot of things by looking at facts and interviewing people on that subject. The one's I've seen include:

Gun Control (They take an Anti Gun Control view, surprisingly, since it is quite a liberal show)
Hypnotism
Conspiracy Theories
The Bible (Christians be warned, a constant bit in this and other episodes is to use a bible as a clay pigeon)
Swearing (The idea of banning swearing and whatnot)
Life Coaches (This one is probably my favorite, these guys are TOTAL con artists)

It's a really good show, anyone with bit torrent or, better yet, Showtime, should check it out. Tons of other episodes.

Btw thanks to your president idea attack Iraq, he succesfully make new terorist nest and propaganda. Even Sadam was a dictator but he need by Iraq to keep their country secure from terorist. Because Sadam gone now terosist dare make their camp in Iraq, and other bad news Syiah and Kurdi got too many concession. In Moslem world Syiah really2 famous for the ekstrimism

Yeah, Bush is an idiot. I can understand going after the terrorist that blew up the Twin Towers and killed over 10,000 people, but then it somehow turned into a war with Iraq, WTF!

The sad thing is that many people in the middle east has paid for the twin towers attack but the guilty ones are free as a bird.

Yes, that is indeed a sad thing. I just hope that we've made things over there a little better for the people. If not, then what a big freaking waste. I never supported this war anyway.

Well looking at Iraq now where everyday almost a 100 people die in terrorist attacks, i must say things havent got much better for now atleast.

Also who is to say another dictator wont take over,next time the us wont care if they dont have anything to get revenge for.

It's always the same, the ones in charge are always free.
And aftzer all those twin towers attackers died with the victims, 'cause it was suicide maybe even not organized. So all the killers are dead from whom should we get our revenge now, let's fuck up their whole country.
