I would just vneture to say that in life Skulknight was just a really good mounted fighter, and him being off his mount would take him out of his element.

Oh no doubt, it would be like asking Guts to use a big axe or a hammer. He could definately do massive damage, but not like what he could do with The Dragon Slayer.

Nice first sentence. But don't forget Griffith is no mere apostle he is one of the five chosen godhands masters of the apostles.

well there are like 2 differet ones, but it is probably based on their badassitude during life and what they had to sacrifice maybe.

hmm maybe...
but that apostle who was after them after they rescued Griffith was an old man originally
and the slug-baron only sacraficed his wife
the Pirkaf-chick sacraficed his parents
and they got pretty fuckin' badass

Maybe it´s like they will turn out how they unconsciously want to look like... Or maybe it all depends on how bad they want to become an apostle in the end, a tiny bit = A tiny apostle and vice verse.
Or maybe it´s based on how much regret they have when they say who is the sacrifice, if they dont care that much they get real bad ass form as a reward.

Edit: And about SK not getting off his horse, didnt he get off the horse when he visited Schierkes teacher??

nah, hes not a weakling, but he appears and disappears like a phantom, and that he can more easily do on his unique horse

it would be soooo, lame if you just suddenly heard someobny running like: chng, chng, chng
and SK suddenly pops up like: tadaaaam
