As I said, you might like the storyline in a game better than the actual gameplay, but when it comes down to it, the gameplay is more important than the story in a game. How many more times have you completed this Legacy of Kain: Defiance since you finished it? I'm assuming not many (if at all), because now that you experienced the story, there's no reason to come back to it, even moreso if there's tedious gameplay involved.Darnoc wrote:And to interfere with the Gameplay>Story I have four words: Legacy Of Kain: Defiance
Playing the game was annoying as hell but the story was worth it
As much as I love the story in Xenogears, I won't be coming back to that game because of the extremely repetitive battles/random encounters, whereas 3rd Strike still gets some gaming from me, not to mention the fact that it's in center stage in most of the tournaments that take place across the world. Let's not forget that 3rd Strike doesn't even have a bad story, it barely has one at all. That's a game that will carry through, a game you'll always be able to enjoy, because Gameplay > Story. If you think otherwise, you're probably playing games for the wrong reasons.
On I side note (and I found this in some article a while ago), it's interesting how casually people use the word gameplay, when it's a word that doesn't have an exact definition and isn't even listed in the dictionary.
