I played the Japanese demo. They spoke english!!
The whole style system is a welcomed add. Since my right arm gets stiff a lot I can use the swordmaster style and not strain it. I really want the Royal Guard style but so far it isn't in the demo and hasn't been spoken about for a while. I believe it may be a feature you get after you beat the game. I want a whole melee fist and foot fighting style, not the limited one you get after you throw your sword at an enemy!

I don't think that's a style, I think it's a weapon called Beowulf. Check the website (http://www.capcom.co.jp/devil3/) they have a lot of neat stuff there. And yeah, I'm also dying to get this game. This and Xenosaga Ep. II are the only PS2 games I'm looking forward to for the next few months.

Hm, it shows royal guard and something called "quick silver" as a style on that so well I guess it's in there. I only wanted fist fights anyway or just to bash things with counter fist action.
Does the beowulf have crystals coming out of it? If so wasn't virgil using it? I still need to look at the site to find the weapons anyway.

Apparently, there's also a guitar/scythe-like weapon.

you mean better then the first, since the second wasnt even worth anyones time. DMC3 looks better everytime i see the trailers and pictures. I just cant wait to get this game, though im gonna have to shell out an extra 20 bucks for a new PS2 controller.Starnum wrote:Yeah, I’m looking forward to this game too. It’s supposed to be a lot better then the second game, which is a plus.

Yeah, everyone go out and buy this game, it's one of the best action games to come out in a while, and it's not that hard really. You will die a lot, and you will be pissed because of this, but it never gets frustrating and it never seems unfair. In time, you will learn the enemies attack patterns and you will destroy them.
BTW, it's funny how the game was made more difficult for american and european audiences. Not only is the american normal mode the equivalent of the japanese hard mode, but there are no save checkpoints between missions, which means you will have to repeat every mission that has a boss at least once, because they will trash the first time you face them. I prefer that though, games are too easy nowadays. I still remember that I only died twice in Final Fantasy X.

Yup, it's a prequel. I'm really hoping for the next one to give us some info on the Sparda himself. I mean, here's a story about his two sons, but we don't even know how he died. And yeah, Nevan, the guitar weapon, rules, even it if is a little more difficult to use properly than the rest of the weapons.
As for the power thing, four words: it. is. a. game.

Yeah, I’d like to see more about Sparda too! Man, I can’t wait to play this game, but buying new games is really low on my priority list right now. I just bought Xenosaga II when that first came out, and I’ve only played it once so far *sigh*. Heh, you know, there’s a guitar in the Berserk game too. Unfortunately all of the weapons in that game handle as if you’re still using the Dragon Slayer, even the dagger. It’s kind of sad, but at least they don’t do that in this game.

If you own DMC3 you have got to see these clips (http://www.capcom.co.jp/devil3/main.htm ... r2=maniacs), specially the first and third sections that deal with the Royalgaurd style and with Nevan respectively.
Awesome stuff. All in japanese though. Broadband connection recommended.

blah! We could all do that. I thought you were going to show me some stuff like the crazy video on the game(at main screen hold all shoulder buttons and rotate left analog stick clockwise i think, you should unlock it). Now those are manic. Only impressive thing on the manic was when he killed three or four prides with release. Max I did was two.
