Future of EG's Berserk Scanlations

Post by psi29a »

Darkhorse is producing a volume of Berserk every 2 months.

For example: Vol15 jan 31, Vol16 march, and Vol17 may

This means in 2 years at a rate of 6 volumes per year, they will have caught up to EG's first translations (end of volume 26). This is where the sticky parts come into play as we have recently been taking off from the tracker certain chapters and volumes that have been released officially by their English distributors.

It is only fair that we do the same for Berserk. The good news is that we do chapters (episodes) that are released in YA of Japan and may be re-ordered in the volume releases that are done by a separate company.

Anyhoo, the bottom line is that we will have to take down our releases of Berserk as the volumes are released here in the states. We will continue our work on the episodic releases from YA but as soon as they are published in the volumes by DH, they will be removed form the tracker.

If anyone links to a torrent or the files themselves that have been previously published by DH, they will promptly be removed. It is also encouraged of all of you to report the behavior if you guys see a problem. We don't want to have the place shut down.

We want to enjoy Berserk and support Miura. Buy the volumes.

Never expected anything else.

Now I just have to very securely copy all my berserk files, or I won't be able to get them back should anything go wrong with the comp :).

Well, since the files won't be taken down until the equivilent volume is published, you could always buy anything you loose. Just a thought.

Well, I could buy it all, but I've gotten used to reading berserk in English (and ordering English Berserk from overseas would be more expensive), and also, I really don't like the tiny format those volumes come in. I wish they would publish in large letter format or so :).

And were are you from, Istvan? Your name sounds Hungarian to me, but I don't know.

To all those who asked: I'm a legally German semi-German (the other half being English).

And in Germany, you can buy up to volume 30 or so, but it's really really small format, and they all have really stupid names.

Caska is "Kjaskar" for instance. How could I support such blasphemy???

Buy the english dark horse releases. Only thing I can find wrong with them so far is that they call the skeleton knight "the knight of skeleton", wich bothers me to some degree. Other than that they're pretty much flawless. :)

..and to those who say they can't afford it: It's all about priority.

Knight of Skeleton, Gorem (as in golem), Judo, Schierke et cetera are all official romanizations.

Initially, I had hoped they would pay a little attention to the translations the fans have already done.

Oh well, I'm just glad I don't have to import them from abroad. I hate customs. :x
