What can I say? I doubt the poll is even seventy-five percent accurate, but I LOLed.A poll conducted by what bills itself as "the world's most visited Christian website" indicates a surprising number of Christians are addicted to pornography, RAW STORY has learned.
"The poll results indicate that 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography," said Clay Jones, founder and President of Second Glance Ministries.
The group defines "addicted" as applied to pornography as use on an ongoing basis.

By that definition, anyone who watched porn once last year and again today is "addicted." With something like this it's not the span of what you do, it's how often. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch my hourly porn.

In all honesty, the average christian man craves pornography, and would look at filthy pictures for at least an hour a day if given the option, and assured that no social stigma would befall him. For women it is less common only because there is no discernable pattern to what will arouse a human female.
The term "addiction" is used incorrectly by the study, and in an alarmist and condescending fashion very fitting to the Second Glance Ministries usual style.
I can't see why anyone is surprised.

.
Buh? Or maybe it is because like 99% of all porn is directed to males?
I'm pretty well aware of what arouses me, and most of my female friends are as well, so I dunno where you get that statement from...other than ignorance.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that there's no pattern within individual women. The study I was referring to (not joking) showed multiple women a set of picture flashcards and the intent was to find which images would always arouse women. However, there was no discernable pattern that would fit any majority of the subjects. Images that instantly produced increased pulse rate and vaginal lubrication in one subject would be completely inneffective on another. Many women even reacted by growing aroused when presented with "control" pictures, which weren't supposed to be at all arousing or enticing.angi wrote:Buh? I'm quite certain that, as a mature individual, you have experimented and found what does and doesn't interest you. The intent of my statement, however, was that the porn industry is hard-pressed to cater to women as a whole, because there is no common theme that will garuntee sales. Porn addiction is less common in women because there isn't much porn that caters specifically to them, as you said, and the reason for this is that it's really hard to make that sort of porn.

Well, I wouldn't say it would be difficult to make and markert porn to women once the stigma attached to it is reduced (most women do not like porn as it stand as they find it degrading, personally I don't have a problem with it.)
Women do, in general, like erotica which usually has some type of plot to it. Porn that is driven by plot no matter how thin would probably work for many women assuming different varieties were presented. I mean, you are much more likely to find a copy of The Lover in a woman's dvd collection than Houston 500.
