US price growth stokes rate fears
US rates raised to five-year peak
Weak US dollar weighs on markets
Why the dollar is falling so fast
Share prices are dropping like stones all over the world, including here in Singapore.
I dont think the average person is feeling the effects a whole lot now unless you own stocks, or run businesses with razor thin margins.

This was all sparked by inflation fears in the States. The Dow had it's largest slide yesterday in about three years. The CPI (the measure economists and others use to find inflation rates) rose 0.6% in April, which was 0.1% higher than expected.
I know that sounds like a small number but when a prediction is incorrect, the wrong way, the Street goes mad. They all lose their minds for a couple days.
This time, though, it sent global markets in a spiral. Overnight just about every international market was down. India down about 7%, Indonesia about 4% and the Nikkei 225 down just over 1%.
The market here stateside is climbing back. Dow is up about 13 points, about a quarter of a percent. Not to mention, looking now, the Dow is up 4% year to date.
I wouldn't worry too much about this specific blip. In the long run, however, I'd keep an eye on things. The Fed stopped playing with the Funds rate finally, so we'll see in a month or two where the US market settles.
