It's not just some 'guy'. It's Steven Colbert. He has his own show (The Colbert Report) on after the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I don't know if you missed this label during the video or what.

He's not insulting him, he's roasting him as the title of the video indicates. The skit in the 3rd video is quite hilarious.

i took those videos at face value.
i dont really know the context of it.
you mean they invited him to make fun/slander the president?

haha its just that if this were to happen in singapore (someone making slanderous remarks about the government), he would get his ass sued off and live in poverty forever.
now i see the US government inviting someone to slander them and everyone laughs their asses off. nobody cares. instead its a big joke.

Yeah, it's called satire. The world's non-oppressive governments have it and you don't get killed for it.

It was all in good fun. Colbert is a comedian. It's not slanderous in this case at all.

Fucking Stepthen Colbert!!!!!

At first nobody thought his show could last since its the same thing as the daily show, but hell, i think it is better than the daily show.

The Colbert Report is just plain amazing. I love the Intro theme with hiim waving the american flag, and "The Word" speaks the truth.

TRUTHINESS!!!

It is pretty funny. Colbert is hillarious, however... wrong crowd. Light laughs and forced smiles.

I agree, Colbert is awesome. I watch his show regularly (which you can also torrent, for those who don't have access to US cable, like me).

The best thing about Colbert is that he puts on such a persona, that I'm not even sure some of the people he is mocking even realize he is mocking them. I hear he doesn't want his kids to watch his show, because he doesn't want to them to see him being sucuh an asshole all the time.

It is called a Roast. Purpose is to "roast" the main person.

this is actually something that has been done for many years now.

Colbert did a great job back when he was on the daily show, so i wasn't surprised when he got his own show.

That one Bush look alike did something very similar in which he pretended to be all of Bush's inner thoughts. God what was his name again?

Personally, I don't see how calling people out for their own mistakes and inappropriate behaviour in their respective offices and professions can be seen as inappropriate if their incompetence is true.

I was surprised and giddy when I realized he wasn't pulling any punches, ostensibly for their comedic value (and it was pretty funny). Colbert's character from his show and the speech here is really only a mirror that reflects the arrogant, sometimes well-intentioned albeit completely selfish acts of the administration and other "conservative" pundits in the media. If he sounds like an asshole, it's not his fault, he just has some pretty amazing material that he is using as his source for inspiration.

One thing is for sure, he has to have some pretty big cajones to have said all those things in public to the president's face, and for that alone I would respect him.

Im sick of this Steve Colbert hype and to even compare him to great John Stewert is sick.

Colbert is a clichè.

Cause i have seen his type many times before,he tries too hard and he reminds of Conan sometimes and that not a good.

He was okay when he had his little part in daily show but his show is boring cause he does what he did good in short segment in a too long time and too much.

Yes, because Stewart (or any other comedian) comes up with original, brand new material every time they open their mouth.

There is a reason he has to try hard. He went from segments on TDS to his own half-hour show. He's in the shadow of Stewart still.

There are many clichès but Stewert has his own style that makes him special while Colbert is like every other loud mouthed so called comedian you find everywhere.
