Coffee

Post by MrFelony »

got back to college so now the coffee drinking has resumed. currently im drinking Arvid Nordquist which is an arabic coffee whose company is based in Solna, Sweden. its pretty good though i probably ruin it by doctoring the shit out it (creamer thats vanilla caramel AND toffee how can you go wrong :D). Im not very knowledgable about coffee so i'd thought i'd make this thread for education and just plain talkin to you guys (aww:roll:) So anyway...

are you a big drinker? what kind do you drink? How do you like your coffee?Whats the best you've had? any knowledge you'd like
to share about the basics and complexities?

ok i can drink like hot tea for dinner at a chinese resturant, or when im eating pho and the stupid place wont let me have ice water, but fucking hot coffee??? i just cant do that. My dad can drink straight up black coffee during a fucking heat wave. I just for some reason cant comprehend the idea of something hot to be refreshing (ok so yah hot coco during a blizzard, i can do that). But i live in southern california... my winter is fucking summer, my spring is summer, my summer is summer and my fall is summer. Its always warm and putting a warm drink in me just seems weird.

Coffee sux a bit. Tangent! I like to drink tea when I remember to, though.
Especially turkish tea- I have my own private and depressingly small stash of it. It's like Earl Grey on steroids, tastes awesome. I hear turkish coffee is supposed to be rather scary, though.

Buzkashi is a bit scary too, but kewl.

Mune, try blending Turkish and Ceylon teas, you'll definitely like it. And to get the best results you should brew it samovar-style; with a small pot of very strong tea sitting on a larger vessel of boiling water. Pour a small amount of strong tea into a little tulip-shaped glass and cut it to the desired strength with hot water...

I like frappacino's and vanilla capacino's. Besides that its basically good ol' tea for me.

I drink Coffee when it isn't too much work, and tea when it is.

Coffee I generally have black, or with a little bit of milk and sugar. I pump shitloads of sugar into my tea though.

And as far as drinking coffee when it's hot, it's not so bad. It's much like people you see who purchase ice cream from stores during the middle of winter. I even find I don't mind the heat so much when I drink a hot cup of coffee or tea.

As far as what types I drink, I'm not picky. I'm not a connoisseur(sp?) or anything so I simply drink what I have, or what I can get. It's much like wines. You won't see me sniffing a cork after I pull it out of the bottle.

I used to drink coffee with sugar, but when I tried it black a few times it was too sweet for me with any sugar in it at all after that.

I drink absinth sometimes on the weekends, I have a friend from The Netherlands that gives me a few bottles when he´s over to visit. The real Absinth is illegal in Sweden so I´m glad for that :D

my personal preference is an ice frappe... you can add fruits, ice cream, anything really when you blend it... also if you're really wantin a kick.. you can always chew coffee beans... my company commander did it in the army... but he was alittle loopy... a nice earl grey tea works too
