Here is the deal, BBtech is too image intensive, and reminds us of our old DP days. We are beyond that at this point and doing our own thing.
Right now, Aeolus and Darksky are the choices. Whoever wins, will be the forum's default template.
If Aeolus wins, we are going to gut it and start from scratch and change a few things around, it won't be the same as the Aeolus that you are used to now.
If DarkSky wins, I will add in the usual features (spell check, quick-post) and of course improve the contrast for those that have harder time reading the light text on a dark background.
Well, as I've said many times before, my only problem with BBTech was how difficult it was to see where new posts were located. I actually prefer the darker template.
Going Darksky. I think the text color and board color are far easier on the eyes than BBtech. And it is functional like Aeolus.
Seriously, I don't think the contrast of text should be touched. I am very happy with it. If every one is having problems though, then make the change I guess.
I personally don't really care if BBTech reminded me of DP, (I like DP as a whole anyway), it's the only skin I like and find fitting for Berserk and its themes. But if it's too image intensive, I can understand the reason for scrapping it. I have no problems with Darksky, (although I do prefer Zerospace, heh ) it'll take some time for me to adjust, I guess. Dark colours are usually my preferences anyway.
I'll stick with BBTech while it LASTS.

I liked Aeolus, but I find that I enjoy Darksky as well. What kind of changes would be made to Aeolus? I guess that would decide things for me. As things are now, I prefer Darksky by a bit, but if the Aeolus changes sound interesting, I would go for that.
