Review Your Albums

Post by DarkenRahlX »

This is not meant to be a spamming thread. You should actually give you opinions rather than just slap a album name down with a rating without actually having anything to say about the album.

-If you have a small picture of the album post that also along with your review if you want.
-Release date of the album if you know.
-Try and at least write 2 or 3 sentences about your ablum. Don't be a spam bitch.

-Let's use a 10 scale to rate the albums.

Well here go my first reviews.

Between the Buried and Me - Alaska
September 2005
Genre - Metal
Image

This is Between the Buried and Me's junior release. This CD contains major influences from Opeth, Dream Theatre, Radiohead. There genre influences seem to be death metal, jazz, hardcore, and progressive rock. You can also hear a tinge of southern rock in there from time to time. This band has more talent in there boogers than most band could ever dream of having. This CD is brutal and it does have its moments when everything is tranquil. This is by no means you're repetitive hardcore band...you know...the ones all the scenester kids listen too. I'm in no way dissing mainstream hardcore, because I enjoy it too, but this band just breaks the cookie cutter shit most bands get trapped doing. This is the type of band that seems to get better with every release. Very rare nowadays.

Favorite Tracks:
Selkies: The Endless Obsession
All Bodies
Backwards Marathon
Laser Speed

Rating: 10/10

[/b]Metallica - St. Anger[/b]
June - 2003
Genre - Metal
Image

This album was a major disappointment back in '03. The reviews had been saying that they went back to their roots...bullshit. This album is nothing but trash. I can't believe Metallica would even declare this crap to be their best ablum. The lyrics were unintelligent, the drums were just plain horrid (Lars sounded as if he was beating on paint cans), and no guitar solos. At best this is just a very mediocre album.

Favorite Tracks:
None! They were all horrible. Lyrics such as "Frantic tic tic tic tic tic tic tok" and "Invisible kid never knew what he did"...that's just trash. Go back to drinking Hetfield.

Rating: 5/10

Madeleine Peyroux - Careless Love
September 2004
Genre - Jazz
Image

One of the greatest new jazz artists that I've heard in a while. This is a calming album filled with some suave loving. A very romantic and soulful cd. Her voice is soft yet a tad raspy in some points, but still beautiful nonetheless.

Favorite Tracks:
Careless Love
This is Heaven to Me
You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome

Rating: 9/10

I am not that much of a audio file to post an extremely intelligent review, but perhaps I will give it a shot with some of the few albums that I own and quite fond of.

Ok here goes

Album: Menog-Emotions (2005)
Genre: Psy-trance

Image

Best tracks on it (According to me):

DNA chain
Motions
Paranormal Attack- Litle bit freak (Menog Re-mix)
Menog Vs. Spectra-Analog
Malana

8/10

It´s a pretty well made CD.
Twisted sounds mixed with pretty damn good samples (Compared to most off the crap that comes out nowadays within the Psy-trance scene).
But he has stolen some sounds from Infected Mushroom´s 1st and 2nd CD´s.
Can´t wait until I hear "Litle bit freak" when I´m on a party :D¨

Edit: After listening some more too this CD I have to rasie the grade to 9/10 mostly cause off one reason... It´s freakin good :D

Artist: Audiomatic
Album: Multiplayer (2004)
Genre: Progressive trance

Image

Great tracks on this CD:

Metaphorik
Wechselwirkung
Smoke
Planet Earth (Well half off this track is descent)

I like Audiomatic, but this CD is, well.
Not quiet where it could´ve been.
They have used 3-4 off the most common samples out there on
3 tracks wich is a little lame from my point off view :P
And also re-used some off "Shiva Chandras" material.
So it´s like, Better luck next time

4/10

so my text comes all over the place

Anyway´s I think I´ll scribble some more reviews now

Artist: Sub6
Album: Who need´s love songs (2004)
Genre: Full on/psy-trance

Notice worthy tracks on the CD :

Well all off the tracks on this CD is really good and well made, the only track that is a little different in quality is "7th Son",
I didnt really like the vocals in it and it´s to much off a House track.

However, when I saw these Israelians live performance
I wasn´t impressed one bit.
Ok, it was right before they released this album,
and the Pioneer´s within the psy-trance scene (Infected Mushroom)
played at the same party so maybe they struck me as a
little to blend if i unconsciously compared them to them.
Ohh and it was like 8:00 in the morning too when they played.
Maybe I was a little to mushy in the head at that time,
cant really recall.

But overall I give this CD a 9,5/10
cause it´s really rocking with their very own unique sounds with an overall BPM at 144

Artist: Infected Mushroom
Album: The Gathering (1991)
Genre: Full on/Psy-trance

Image

Just wow!!
All tracks on this CD are
(still compared to what comes out at present)
amongst the best that´s ever been produced
within this music scene.
All off these tracks brings back nostalgic memories.
This is the way music is supposed to sound like.
If you ain't got it, get it

So this CD get´s ++10/10

Artist: Infected Mushroom
Album: Classical Mushroom (2000)
Genre: Full on/psy-trance

Image

Well this CD is almost as good as their first release,
but those that are worth naming are as follows:

Bust a move
Sailing in the sea off mushrooms
The Shen
Nothing comes easy
Mush mushi

The sadest part is that after IM released this CD they´ve only gone downhill since then
(Been sniffin to much Coke maybe) and now they´ve
even gone so far as to mix Full on with rap on their latest album.
Which equals (Yes you guessed it right) crap.

But this CD still gets a massive 9,5/10
