I love Mario Kart, but Golden Eye?? I dislike that game.
You crazy man. :D GoldenEye is the second best console shooter ever, and it was released quite a few years earlier than No. 1, Halo.

Four players, License to Kill, Turbo Mode, Pistols on Complex is still one of the most fun things you can experience today.

Change Complex to Archives and we're all set. :D

Seriously, Goldeneye is the most fun I've ever had with a FPS, and I hate FPS.

Archives is not half bad, but there is a reason Rareware included Complex in Perfect Dark as well... :D

FPS sucks without mouse and keyboard anyway, hate it to just look at the top left with a regular gamepad ;]

Meh.

About 10-25% of those fighters are actually good (Mortal Kombat?), and that's not counting the fact that most of those are probably r0mz and p0rts. It's pretty impressive as far as a collection goes though.

by DarkenRahlX
The only one that is Rom only is Fallen Angels

by Femto
That makes your collection about 50% more impressive then.

Still, pre-PS2 2D fighter ports (most of the PS2 ports too actually) are just horrible and nothing close to the arcade experience. Every PSOne port has cut frames, and that just kills it for me right there. That's not even mentioning the input and timing issues that are always present in teh p0rts.

If those neo-geo games are AES though, you are officially my God.

Dude I got money... but I still can't afford to buy AES.
Only AES that I have are King of Fighters 96, 97, 98, Samurai Showdown 1, 2, 3, Real Bout Fatal Fury II, Power Instinct Matrimelee, and Rage of the Dragons.

You should go MVS, it's so much cheaper.

Still the fact that you own an AES makes you about 200% cooler than everybody here.

I got most of my stuff at coinopexpress.com. I'm wanting to get an atomiswave system and new cabinet so I can buy King of Fighters XI, Neogeo Battle Coliseum and Rumble Fish II. The AES and MVS are sometimes around the same price. I got one MVS game KOF 2002. I'm thinking i could just use that cabinet to play those games... I don't know though. It would be nice to have 2 separate cabinets.

Posted: Mon Jun 06, 2005 11:06 pm
by Femto
You should hold on for that one, I don't think they sell individual Atomiswave carts yet, you have to buy the whole board for every game. Those games aren't even out yet, so hopefully that'll change by then.

Have you seen the consolized Atomiswave?

Posted: Mon Jun 06, 2005 11:13 pm
by DarkenRahlX
No. Do you know where I could see a picture of one >.>? Well I guess I can't use my cabinet then. ; ; I haven't done much research on atomiswave stuff.

is this it? man how much do these things run for?? plus how you guys have that much money to spend on this many games?!?!?! IMHO you guys are my gods of gaming...

Well, the Atomiswave motherboard alone costs around $500. Add the extra connectors, the Supergun or whatever is used to change the RGB signal into standard TV stuff, joysticks and whatever extra thing these people add and I'd say around $650-$750 for the consolized system, not counting the extra costs you'd have to pay to whoever is building it for you. The carts themselves are even more expensive than the system and can easily go up as high as $1500. These carts don't retain their value over time, so you might be able to find these carts twice as cheap a few years after release.

I just want my consolized MVS now, I'll think about the Atomiswave later.

RahlX: Do you have CPS2 boards too? Image

Impressive fighting game collection DarkenRahlX. I like it. Any who, I have been trying to get me a hold of a Neo Geo for a while now, and it is just too freakin hard at the moment. And PSone fighting ports are horrible, cut frames and nasty load times equal ghey. Saturn ports how ever are the shit.

Oh and Femto, do you know exactly how bad the input is on console ports, like how many frames you lose??
