Contra Cover Art Traced

Post by Shisho »

I was cleaning out some old picture folder back ups and I had these pictures I've been sitting on for a year or longer. I thought it was pretty amusing who they traced for the original Contra cover art. So I kind of half assed photoshopped these pictures together to show how blatant this shit was. Why I notice this shit and save it? No clue.

You got a keen eye. But the question is who wouldn't want to trace Arnold for there soldier/commando type picture? eh?

Contra is fucking awesome.

The only thing that can match Contra in awesomeness is Arnold himself.

I have the dumbed down Australian/UK release of Contra Spirits 3 known as Super Probotector, where the two characters are replaced with robot-like or armoured characters. The difficulty is cakewalk compared to the US/Japanese release.

I <3 Contra.

Super Contra was awesome too. And my twin has Neo Contra on PS2 wich is quite cool too. For the fans, the best cover ever is Vomitron playing the contra soundtrack. Hear it on http://www.myspace.com/vomitron.

I've heard/seen shops of a theory that not only was the 1P dude's stance based off of Arnold in Predator, but the 2P guy on the right was based off of Sly Stallone in one of the Rambos.

YTMND gave me a decent version of the switch up, but I'm almost positive I've seen a shop with Rambo in the exact same stance as the Contra guy:
