Does this remind you of anything?

Post by Thegreensquid »

Sooo... I'm reading through another favorite comic of mine, Spawn, and I noticed this

...you know, maybe it's just me, but that kind of reminds me of something...

Anyway, I just felt like sharing, did a quick search but didn't find anything else on this. If it's been mentioned before (and there is a good possibility it has.) Then just ignore me.

I thought it resembled more the Kushan's attack in the most recent chapters. The swarms of monsters stalking the city, and Zodd flying around.. :)

I really don't like Spawn, the comic, not the character.

He's a cool character, originally, but the comic only lasted the first 10 issues for me. Then, Angela came in and kind of salvaged the title a bit, but it was still pretty crap.

At first glance, the pages doesn't resemble anything, but if I was forced to make a comparision, I guess it looks like the eclipse.

There is a sort of similiarity between this and the eclipse. So, do we think it's pure coincidence, or was the author of Spawn inspired by Berserk?

Hmmm....did the red tint to the eclipse come with the anime or the manga? Then, if that's so that it's only red in the anime I have to ask which came first, Berserk anime? or Spawn comic? ^_^

Looks pure coincidence to me. Not too savvy that just cuz something looks like something else to think that the author ripped it. People's minds all feed off of the same plane of existence when its allowed to view it.
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!

Ok, I'll take the other side. It doesn't look like the eclipse at all. There were no houses in the eclipse.

It does look a little like the Kushan invasion of midland though - but only mildly so.

That might be possible, but then again, all armageddon type scenes looks similar.

thats what i think too. think princess mononoke; large blobs of doom killing everyone ...AGAIN.(although this spawn clip is more similar to berserk than this)

its the idea of evil demonic spirits in a huge sea that connects these similar pictures together. not the influsence of one comic to anothe artist. just similar visions of a seemingly common idea.

I like the character of spawn but the creator is an enormous tool. Look at anything from his business practices to the multitude of lawsuits he's lost for character creation and idea rights.

he's not a good guy.

But....He revolutionized the way artists draw Spider-man!
That's something.

Possibly, but since I don't actually read Spider-man, I'm finding it very easy to contain my exitement.

He was the artist who drew Venom...well, the first artist anyway.

That kind of makes him the creator of Venom, in a way.

I would just like to add that Griffith's eclipse took place IN A FILED. Besides, they might have been plunged into the interstice so deep, that it altered time and space completely.

On the other hand, the slug baron's eclipse took place "in da house".

The whole environment of the eclipse was a bloody mass...torn faces and everything...it couldn't have bben anything else

Although I wonder why Griffith became red...he could be black as well

just because he didn't totally rip off the eclipse right down to the landscape doesn't mean that scene wasn't inspired by it. that picture looks pretty berserkish to me but who knows.

Absolutely no ripoff, I think all that ressembles it is the red color and some of the teeth might look alike some of the berserk ones. And no its not Zodd on the right, its just a demon with a beast face.

Well if you go by the cover of Volume 12 rather than the anime then he was actually dark blue.

i just dont like this thread. not that the pic doesn't contribute to discussion, just that spawns been mentioned before and that this isnt really thread worthy (for a newb at least since there is a thread for beginner posts) but im just being grumpy i guess.

the main reason why they are similar is because its a freaky red hued place with large ass overlord guys controlling the thing with spawn running around like guts.
