Thats usually the cliché life of an artist, but Picasso became famous and got dough quite quickly in his life still(they worshipped his ass in Paris from early on), compared to other painters. Like Van Gough, not only was he poor as fuck and non knew him, the poor bastard never sold a painting of his while he was alive(people found to be too childish).

I really like Bezerk, and from what I have read, its astoundingly great and awesome, but its nothing that makes you scream "ze genius" or anything. Saying he is very talented as Mune said is enough, but if I called him a genius, I would have tough time coming with a stronger adjective then that(not thats even possible, other then calling him a God) for Alan Moore, who is truly a frigging out of this world genius artist.

Btw, what do you guys think of Inoue Takehiko?(proberly misspelling his name). The dude who made Vagabond, the art in that bold is just so frigging awesome, unbelieveable.

Yes. As for the insanely craptastic debate going on here of "random artist versus random artist", talent can be argued differently on many factors. I've read Watchman/The Killing Joke/V for Vendetta and other Alan Moore works, but I don't like them as much as Berserk and for different reasons. It's subjective to people, some find Miura's work atrocious, same for Moore/Jim Lee and every other fucking person listed. You'll find an argument for everything because that's the nature of art, it's subjective to opinion and personal preference.

So for the above, yes, miura qualifies as genius, as do many other artists/writers. However, to state this as some fucking contest is completely retarded, no offense.

Artistically, he's amazing of course, but I wouldn't say that's where his genious lies.

I believe his genious to lie in his imagination, in that he can create incredibly well rounded and developed characters, an outstanding plot, and sheer creativity. All the apostles? They all required a vast imagination to think of, obviously, and his immense talent put them to paper.

Alan Moore is better at crafting stories than Miura is.

Period.

That you like one over the other has nothing to do with that fact.

And of course everyone here is going to think he's a genius because this forum is centered around the works of the man.

It's like going into a Capcom forum and asking if people like KOF over Street Fighter.

What do you think people are going to say?

This will be my last post in this thread for three reasons:

1) This thread sucks very much.

2) A torrential downpour of stupid posts will befall upon me soon.

3) This thread is going into the exact same direction as that other one I made.

To summarize what would've been pages of me arguing against most of this site:

I'm right, you're wrong.

I sorta find myself in agreement with Femto. Not with regards to his opinion of Berserk, (and I still think Miura is a genius story teller) but in regards to the usefulness of this thread. It doesn't actually seem like it's going anywhere, or has the potential to go anywhere in the future.

Your right you are a dumbass and yes I was wrong to think that you were an opened mind guy who could listen to other peoples opinions.

Anyway about Alan Moore, did a little research, he is a practising magician and worships a Roman snake deity named Glycon  not only that but he doesnt draw the artwork some else does, so you cant even catagorize him with Miura because Miura can do it all

Again, opinions are like assholes... you know the rest

Lock plz.

The original poster doesn't even come back (he's probably happy that he opened his little fanboy thread and ran back to the Naruto forums), and Femto's assumption #2 is about to become true. We can't let that happen or we won't be able to blame him for shit.

Edit: or banish to the interstice, for moar E-drama.

I'm only going to go in loops with this, but again, that's an opinion. You can't craft talent onto some factual scale. If you find one person who thinks Alan Moore sucks as an artist/writer (yes, there are, just with -anyone-) you've lost your validity in stating some universal fact, especially when there are literally millions of people who would debate with you all day superior artists/writers to the ones you are mentioning.

I'm not one of them.

Again, this is contradicting. Every single debate with a large fanbase will have a random counter, "No, his/her work is shit compared to _____". This is the only fact and rule to anything being said here, which is the problem. There's no need to bring up other artists or writers in comparison to Miura, or in any other debate about a creator, musician or designer, its not something you can throw in statistics with and state as fact since its COMPLETELY dependant on personal taste.

Opinion does not equate fact, it's just an excuse for stupid people to validate their shitty taste in stuff.

Being of the opinion that Alien Vs. Predator is the best movie ever doesn't make it rightfully so.

Being of the opinion that Miura is a better storyteller than Alan Moore doesn't make it so.

Yes, some things are subjective.

This however, is not.

I've talked about this shit a million times already.

Someone lock this terrible thread already.

But let Arngrim post the last reply so he can jerk off to himself tonight.

Again, it's your opinion. People can find it just as shitty as your version of somebody thinking AvP is worth shit. But if they do like their interests better, you can't twist their words or beliefs and make fact out of which is superior, it's a personal decision, not something global.

Some would argue against that. He could basically paint/draw anything he wanted. He just choose to paint all abstract and what not. Look at his really early stuff.

Yes, Albator does remind me of Satou. So it is very fitting that he depicted himself as Satou, at the peak of insanity. Despite popular belief, Albator's significant other is not a cat, and is/isn't someone who dresses up in a cat's costume to please his fetishes.

Anyway, this thread is locked. It may be unlocked and thrown in the Interstice, if deemed dr4m4 worthy.
