Speaking of Spiderman, though, I recently rediscovered a classic piece of the the old Marvel Universe in the Spiderman's Cosmic Adventures Trade Paperback, which focuses on the part spidey played in the old Acts of Vengeance storyline way back when. Took me forever to get a decent copy of it.

Returning to the subject of recent comics, I have to admit I'm quite frightened to start reading anything for fear something horrible has happened to my old heroes. X23 was really good, as was Live Wires, and the first few issues of Ultimate Ironman were exsquisite.

I am becoming more and more fan of wildstorm universe.

Having read alot of Wildcats lately. Jim Lee art annoys me alittle but still a good series.

Alan Moore's run in vol 1 made the comic more interesting.

Also read The Boys the new series from Garth Ennis, it was bloody genious :)

Trademark Ennis!

I am also looking forward to this.

Not only cause BKV is a great writer but also it seems so unlike other comics out there.

Well, I'm probably the only one here who likes Spawn, but I found a massive torrent with a ton of Spawn and Spawn related comics, so this makes me happy. I can't wait to dig into it. I never did get to read it all in chronological order, and have only seen some issues here and there, so this should be a treat.

I was a big fan of the early Spawn with the nice art.

But it turned to crap quickly.

I liked the first 10 issues of Spawn. Then it got to nowhere.

After picking up the latest issue, it seemed God and Satan reincarnated themselves into Simmons' ex-wife's children. It's fucked.

Well, as I've said, I've never really gotten to read much of it, but I've always been a fan. I'm fully expecting it to get funky later on, especially beyond the stuff that McFarlane wrote himself. I'll let you guys know what I think after I've read it. ;)

I picked up the first two issues of that. It came with high praises. I can't wait to see how things turn out.

I completly agree atleast the first vol was X-men light.

Then Alan Moore came and wrote and made the story interesting and the characters more interesting.

Vol 2 i have enjoyed more than i have any X-men. Cause it wasnt generic superhero comic where a team saves the world every week. Vol 2 there was no team and the story was Spy/superhero.

Vol 3 is change the world through corporate power and black ops operations on the metha human and alien villains.

Seems like you know the comic? Have you ever read vol 2 and vol 3?

The art in vol 1 i hate specially when it was Jim Lee,man i didnt know he was that bad early in his career. Travis Chearst was the only good artist in the first volume.

Jim Lee has always been awesome.

His X-Men stuff (which was before WildCATS) still holds up really well.

Travis Charest is pretty good, from what little I've seen of his stuff.

Read the Authority.

It's just a mindless fun read.

Haha you dont know?

I love those guys!! Authority are the bomb!

They are the reason i read wildstorm comics.

They are the coolest team ever!

Midnighter is my fav but i like everyone from Jenny Sparks to Apollo.

I specially loved Ellis run. So cool having a team of heroes that kicks ass in such style with a chain smooking leader who cant stop saying "bloody bollocks"

Can you believe my two fav writers will work on Authority.Morrison aka the master of Superhero comic on Authority and Ennis my nr 1 fav on my fav Authority character on the Midnigther ongoing :D

I cant wait for the realese of those.

I didnt remember Charest working on that comic for some reason.

I haven't read enough Wildcats to make some sort of judgement. So I'm not a fan of it. I remember watching the cartoon eons ago and thinking that Spartan was awesome.

I am anticipating the new Wildcats though. They promise it's going to a new direction. Since I haven't read much of the older issues, I wouldn't know what it would be like.

And yes, I love Jim Lee too.

I love Garth Ennis too. I think his run on Hellblazer was the best, better than the rest of the writers.

If you like Authority type comics in the more realistic world of Wildstorm,Wildcats is a good read. Jim Lee does much of vol 1 even though i dont like his work in the comic. Alan Moore run is cool.

Most of all i loved Sean aka Sleeper Phillips work on in vol 2.

Vol2 and Vol 3 are something beteween Authority and Sleeper.

Spartan is cool the only interesting andriod i have seen in comics.

Ennis i collect most of his comics. I have only left his Hellblazer run. Gonna get a trade of that.

Civil War #4 spoilers:

What the hell? Thor is a clone? That's terrible. The whole issue just left a sour taste in my mouth. Millar said in an interview that he wanted readers to believe that both sides are "doing the right thing" but killing Goliath, the creepy Thor stuff and hiring supervillains to hunt down the Secret Avengers makes Iron Man's side look like assholes.

Sue Storm was the highlight of the issue.

I hope the series gets better before it starts to gets worse.

I knew Civil War was going to be shit from the beginning, but I was hoping it would be enjoyable in the process. It seems I was proven right again. Thor being a clone is the worst idea made ever. Reed being a fascist was also out of character, and it seems like Iron Man is a douchebag as usual, never really felt much for him.

Marvel should look at DC for how to do an event.

IC,52 is soooo much better done than HOM,CW.
