The implication was certainly that those Apostles died, though, even if we didn't get to hang around and watch their bodies change back. And while I agree that the more powerful Dragon Slayer makes it harder to torture Apostles to death, which can be a shame, it does make it a lot more practical if he's going to be fighting multiple Apostles at once from now on (as it seems he probably will).

Once he's at Elfheim the fighting may slow down a bit and we'll see a lot more of the Band of the Hawk Vs the Kusharn army, but unless the Emperor cannot use his Thunder Head form again only Griffith will be the one that can fight him head on. But then again we'll see if Gutts decides to come back to Midland after Elfheim or go on to Ys with Roderick.

anyone wanna take bets on if Caska gets fixed?
I don't think we have to worry about guts going off on his own again if she was suddenly better. he learned that lesson...
I know we've discussed the possibilities of whats waiting for them... abandoned lands? No elf king? Apostles ruling the land, ect...
but if it really is the elf king and he's able to do something... does Caska get magic armaments and start helping? She was always strong and would possibly be at or near Serpicos level especially with some magic gear. She doesn't have his strategy but she's got more potential skill with a blade and more battle experience.
Plus if the discussion from earlier about guts being able to absorb more damage because of the brand was accurate Caska could be actually much improved from all the time with the brand, not to mention her various brushes with spirits of all kinds...
soo... whats the verdict? Caska a worthy fighter or a dead weight on the group?

If I've read Miura right, and Caska does get restored, then if she eventually starts travelling along with the rest of the group...
She might have some rough moments, but she'll be valuable, the same way most other members of the group have been valuable. She should be able to hold her own in combat, and I wouldn't be surprised if her perspective on something proves useful. Not only that, but I think she might become a great source of emotional support for Guts once more; something he needs with that armor of his.
If nothing else, the group is better off when they don't have to worry about her falling down a well or something.

Hmmm,
Did not the Skull Knight say something about Caska not wanting the same thing Gatts did. Now, I know it has been discussed on the boards before that maybe she still wants Griffith or what not but I think it's more so her child. That she wants her child.
Maybe that's all her quest would be. It could lead to two things, she must somehow get rid of Griffith who possesses her child's body (whilst what may possibly the child's spirit floats around - you know, the one that stopped Gatt's berserk mode at the beach) or that she comes to accept neo-Griffith as a form of her child.
Either way, it is hard to say, but theorizing is still somewhat fun. I think she may get her senses back but may view the "killing of Griffith" as Gatts would want it as the killing of her child's body and may not allow Gatts to do so. Hence the "your woman desires something else" speech from Skull Knight.
Just my 3 cents.

Yup...I think I said in other thread...c'mon, she probably reverted to that state (child-like) to protect herself. She saw Gatts coming, and 'taking' Griffith away from her. Then, she started to...'like' him, a bit more, and then he left. The Hawks are considered bandits, and hunted like animals. She kept them together, with so many losses...
Then Gatts come back, and they rescue Griffith. Suddenly, hope is back again. But Griffith is that ragged man in the lowest cell from the tower. Hopes crushed again, she (even wanting) won't go with Gatts, but stay with Griffith to rebuild the Hawks - even with Griffith in that state. Then, the Eclipse - she sees the men she kept alive dying like flies, because Griffith just sacrificed them! Then, after almost everyone is dead (and with that scene with Judeau, it's just too sad), she is FUCKING RAPED in front of Gatts, AGAIN BY GRIFFITH!
Hmmm...would you like to come back? I know she can cope with that after some time, but holy crap, she has been through so many shit...and when she comes back, Griffith is considered a god! He'll take the land, and will be made king! Seriously, how many people would hold after that?
Let's remember, she's strong, but she's still human - remember when she got lost with Gatts? She cried. Strong, but human.

I agree that the woman has every right to have retreated deep into her mind to hide from the outside world (even if it does make her somewhat boring as a character at the moment), but I'd still like her to get her mind back. I really liked her character, and thought she was very interesting, but vegatable Caska is just boring. Of course, another interesting thing to consider is, if she gets her mind back, will she remember everything that happened during the time that she'd lost her mind? And if she does, how do you think she'll react to some of the more...interesting memories that she has?
I can easily imagine her following Guts vengeance mindset... I'd love to see that... to see her consumed with single minded vengeance while Guts keeps trying to rope her back in as a voice of reason...
would be some great character dynamics... although she might wonder why he decided to bite her that day...
