Just a heads up, there is where I work... figured others might want to be informed.

Emergency Advisory
The escaped prisoner from the Montgomery County Jail has been spotted on the Virginia Tech campus in the vicinity of the Huckleberry Trail and Tech Center Drive. He is armed and dangerous.
For safety, the CRC is in the process of locking doors to CRC buildings. The buildings will remained locked until further notice. Employees working in the CRC are advised not to come to work and if already at work, to remain in buildings.
At 7am this morning another shooting occurred near the trail head of the Huckleberry on Miller St. in Blacksburg. A law enforcement officer has been shot but no report on the officer’s condition is available at this time. Police are searching the area along the trail, residents are asked to keep their doors locked, to exercise caution and cooperate with police during this search. The suspect William Charles Morva has fled the scene on foot. He is wearing a tie dyed t-shirt and khakis, and he has also been seen wearing something that resembles a white hood or sheet. The Blacksburg Branch of the Montgomery Floyd Regional Library on Miller St. is closed until further notice. Morva is armed and extremely dangerous and if sighted residents should call 911 immediately. All media outlets are being staged and given frequent updates at the Blacksburg Municipal Building parking lot on Draper Rd.
And now that he's in custody, the PR nightmare can begin.
Easily able to blend in among 25,000 undergraduates (thousands of which were new to the campus, about to begin their first day of classes), he shut down the entire university and forced the evacuation of students, staff, and faculty from a variety of campus buildings.
And so now we've got a bunch of scared parents who are trying to determine if Virginia Tech is a safe campus for their children.
I don't envy the administration as it starts damage control...
