Hello everyone, I'm Hyuri and as you can tell I'm new to the forum.

Everyone is giving a little background story so I might as well pitch in.

I originally found out about Berserk over the internet about 2 years ago, I was actually looking for info on Record of Lodoss War. I stumbled by chance into a site (which I long forgot It's name) and read a awesome review about Berserk. I was very intrigued by the concept of the series, alas I was not ment to see Berserk until january of this year.
From the moment I saw the first episode I was hooked on it, watching Gattz (I know it's Guttz but I prefer to call him like this, reasons will later be explained) cut through his enemies was a sight worth watching, plus he is (or was, according to the latest mangas) an anti-hero, much different from your typical knight rescuing the damsel in distress.
Then I got my hands on the manga, which is much better than the animated series. As soon as I finished reading I realized I had become even more addicted than I originally was. It is this need to quench my thirst for Berserk that has brought here to you guys, and well...here I am  .

Well that went well...I think.

So I'm not trying to act noobish or something but I have a couple of questions, can someone clear them up for me please?
1) Are the new chapters of the Manga always posted or the boards for direct download?
2) Can someone please tell me which program I can use to decompress a type ".zip.torrent" file ( I'm highly computer impaired so please try to understand me)

Welcome aboard, a *.torrent file is what is called torrent. Using a Bit-Torrent client you can use this torrent files to download the actual RAR file (our manga). We do this for many reason, but we do not do it to make your life difficult.

We suggest applications like Azureus or the offical Bit-Torrent client and the links for them are found via google or in our FAQ we have in this place already and a very in-depth howto posted on the right hand side on our site @ http://www.evil-genius.us/?page_id=37

We do not host direct-downloads as that would be illegal and we don't want illegal content on the server. That would be bad. We do however have kind souls from all over the world offering direct downloads in the Interstice section of the forums. People generally post their links in there per release, but are always pretty much the same... so you can book mark the sites and get your DD when they update their links.

That reminds me of a funny little story. Back when Berserk was first released on DVD here in the states, I saw a copy of it at Block Buster. I picked it up and looked at it for a second, and saw a picture of Gatts with the sword he used during the Golden Age. Then I though, “Bah, whatever. He’s just trying to be like Orson (from Lodoss War). It hind sight I find this really funny, and even a little ridiculous because Berserk has been my favorite series ever since I got into it, and personally I don’t think Orson could wear Gatts’ jock strap. Heh, just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Uh, actually it’s Guts, but I know how you feel. Generally I’m a stickler for names, especially the official releases of names, but Gatts is one of those special exceptions in my opinion. I just don’t think it sounds very good, and since they do actually call him Gattsu in Japanese, I prefer to call him Gatts *shrugs*. Anyway, welcome to Mindwerks, and good luck on finding and downloading what you need. ;)

Sorry about that I got confused while typing.
Well the reason why I like to call him Gattz is because that is how they spelled it on the subtitles of the series. I just like it a lot more than Gatts or Guts. I don't know, I just got used to it I guess.

Yeah Orson is a really kick ass character, Sure he can cut through rocks as if they were melting butter but he fails in comparison to Gattz. Watching Gattz take some of the worst beatings I've seen on manga or anime and still be driven to get up by his rage is simply inspiring. Plus I think that his anger and hatred go a lot deeper than Orson's character. But hey, they are both great characters that deserve a lot of merit. Rage on Berserks!!

... 275 has been repacked into the volume... this is the nth time I've had to repeat the same thing.

http://bt.evil-genius.us, click on DL (no registration) and get the volume with 275 in it.

I think I may have to write a FAQ entry.

Hello

I go by the tag the40thieves and I am a raging Beserkaholic. I stumbled upon the series by having the anime reccomended to me and was absolutely enthralled by it and with the evil cliff hanger ending, I was a goner. I ravaged the net on all that was Beserk, then discovery it was a manga with more to the story.

I discovered the rest of the amazing tale from scanlations, and then stumbled into Evil Genius when I got to the end of the Hawk's Scans, been lurking your forums ever since, and I feel the urge to embrace the Berserk freak in me and toss in my two cents when I can.

Love, The40Thieves

I've never been fantastic at introductions, but here it goes...

Hello, I'm wotjesus, or just wots. Sorry if you're offended by the name, it's just a tag I've been using for as long as I can remember.

I'm not obsessed with Berserk, persay, but it is undoubtably one of my favorite pieces of literature, couple with some of the best artwork around.

I'm wouldn't call myself a noob to Berserk, not at all, but I'm most assuredly a noob to these forums, but I intend to become more accustomed to it. Thanks for your time, and for having a forum for me to hang around on
