I'm a HUGE fan of the movie but never could find the manga in the local book stores (small town...you know ). From what I've heard the manga isn't as good because they messed up the storyline a little. I just wanted to see if anyone had input on this?

It's the opposite. The anime was scandalous short. Get the manga, it's twenty times better then the anime.
