then you my friend have no love for art, cuz your man Bale was also in the Disney musical Newies!

seriously though how can you not like musicals?? Plus broadway is where acting shines the most, live audience, a singing voice, and over 3 hours long. thats a true test of acting.

a true test of acting is what you're willing to do to get the part . also Bale was in Henry the V (or VIII), i forget.

Actually i have nothing against musicals was just saying singing good has nothing to do with Jackman being a good actor.

I do like some musicals, we somalians grow up with Bollywood movies and they are only musicals. We still rent them almost every time we rent movies.

They NEVER sing themselvs in indian movies, i know now. When my sis told me she crushed happy memories of childhood movies :P

Still i dont watch for the actors but for the voices that truly sing.

Just saw V for Vendetta.

Just like it a lot. In my opinion it ranges with Blade II and Hellboy as a quality comic superhero movie. Really unusual. I just love V joyous insanity, and Portman is just good in it. There's also the little (huge?) political message that's distillated here and there, that allow the watcher to relate.

I just saw V for Vendetta the other day as well. It reminded me of Orwell's 1984 mixed with Aeon Flux, except way better. lol
I also saw scary movie 4 on the same day, that was better than I expected, but not something I would've paid for.
I finally got to watch Office Space, and now that I work in a cubicle environment, wow, it's just bang on. "Yeah, um... that's just great."

Also, yesterday I saw Shinobi. That is a freaking cool movie. At first the CG seemed kind of sucky, but as it progressed the CG for the special techniques got better and better. It was thoroughly entertaining! It had a sort of clichéd storyline, but did it well.

the hollywood remake of "infernal affairs". typical hollywood action and flair. i am interested to see how well the story can be re-enacted.

ahhh recently watched Inside Man. Had the same Spike Lee theme, make the white guy a bitch. However, this movie i thought was very well done. The bank robbery is just too awesome, story was very well told. Denzel Washington is always an awesome actor to watch, he always makes you believe he really is that character in real life. Only problem i had with this movie was that Spike Lee tried to put too much of his race crap, the same old stupid shit about how he makes white guys look like idiots and black people more supreme. It made no impact on the movie. I truly dont care about Spike Lee's POV on racism, but thank god for Clive Owen for stealing the show.

If you havent seen it, watch, and then perform the perfect bank robbery.

saw "little miss sunshine". indi movie that is attractive in a cute but very confusing way. it was realistic in many aspects, but still had some of this "it wouldnt be worth making a movie about unless its CRAZY" kind of things happening. i liked it enough, but it left me very emotionally confused.

also saw a scanner darkly, which was interesting but still lacked impact. i found it easy to just get lost in the rotoscope(sp?) and still not miss anything from the plot. it didnt have a great script, but the narrative parts were good. casting was fitting as well.

saw inconvenient truth. it was okay but left out some things that kind of made me tilt my head. okay to watch and pretty informative, but i dont think i'd see it again.

strangers with candy...i accidentally saw this while orig. going in for wordplay, but something got messed up with that showing. this was...not a good movie. i like cobert, but the main character was not funny at all. ive only seen maybe 1 ep. of the show, and i didnt like that either. the only good thing was the side characters.

since i work part time at a theater, i get in free to whatever i want, so ive been seeing pretty much everything.
tomorrow!: clerks II and wordplay

halfnhalf...I know Spike Lee does that...but his other movies have much more racism talk. This one has not so much... and the coolest character ever is white. His racism wasn't exactly the usual - white men against black men. It was white men against white men (jews).

I loved that movie ;) And yes, Clive Owen simply steals the show...

yeah, its indi, you got me. i want to see azumi as well! ive been waiting for it to come out. i missed hidden blade, even though it was playing at my theater! so i MUST see azumi to make it up.

but i did just see clerks II. pretty funny but why the crappy romance? that part was really bad. the LOTR and transformer jokes were great, and the eliah(?) kid was perfectly casted i thought. just...why the bad romance shit?

Well since there are 100000 directors with the white guys's POV, nothing wrong with one black guys POV.....

Not that i am huge fan of Spike Lee, even though i liked his old race movie with Danny Aillo and himself starring. Dont remember the english name.

Watched Xmen 3 finally, wow what a crippled story it was very much out of place not following anything 100%, kinda put me off, I did like the humor like don't you know who I am " im the juggernaught bitch"!!! That was great, alot of characters was cool, but not developing them enough isn't, this movie only deserves a C+ from me so meh.

Saw Silent Hill. The beginning of the movie was pretty neat but then it went downwards towards the end. A few loose threads though (Just as in the games :P)
