Makes me want to go to Japan even more. I can't decide if it's meant to be serious or semi-comic, it made me laugh nonetheless.

XDDD that was one of my favorite parts too, along with the perfect angle diagrams and the tips on ordering illegal animal sushi

Not sure if those other videos were real, the whole thing was a joke by a Japanese comedy troupe called "Rahmens" or "Ra-menz" or something to that effect. The comments to the video are pretty enlightening for those who feel they didn't get all the jokes.

For example, the salt outside the shops is to ward off evil spirits, NOT for causal consumption XDD Maybe I should have mentioned earlier that this is a joke, and practically nothing that is said there should be taken seriously

Edit: here's another video by the same people, this time about the etiquette of begging forgiveness (Dogeza):

unfortunately, there are no subs in this video (but there is an english voiceover in the background)

ha thats really funny.
its meant to be a joke really.

yeah the logical thing to do after the clip was to search "japan culture lab" in youtube. after which you get the Dogeza clip.

HI-larious. i too enjoy specific angels and counting of steps. there is something really great about the actors, though i cant quite put my finger on it. i love the personality of the comedy, go japanese traditions!

I love how they instruct in the dogeza video when you can lower the act and spit in contempt

I made the mistake of drinking something while watching...that almost turned into a mess haha!

Best parts for me (in no particular order): I loved the salt bit, that had me giggling ridiculously. It made me wonder what kind of skit they'd do for Setsubun, hah. The gari bit was pretty good too. The chef wiping the cutting board, then his face & the knife with the zohkin was classic!

Thanks for sharing Mystic!

Thanks hun :) I was lurking...Just never really had time to post or really get hot n' heavy into the bigger threads. Things haven't really slowed down -that- much; more like I'm cheating at work by reading/posting on forums! Er....
