It was fun when it wasn't mainstream. Such is the way of anime fandom. Seems it becomes more and more mainstream everyday, which is a double-edged sword. Good in that it means that anime related products are easier to get, bad in that the wrong kinds of people get into it.

The only one on that list I ever used regularly was 0_o

On the planet I'm from, it screamed anime otaku loser before it was 'mainstream' (and no, Joe Shmoo anime watcher is not mainstream). When my buddies at college start using those, not only will I slay them, the anime emotions will have hit mainstream.
