Bah, Ivory Coast was the better team with prettier chances. I can't believe they only scored one goal. They deserved at least a few more goals. That and I hate Argentina. Despite their level of skill, they feel like they need to resort to cheap tricks like faking injuries.

That said, it was an exciting match, erasing the poor aftertaste of the previous two matches

Australia beat Japan. I stayed up late to watch it.

Scored 3 goals in the last 8 minutes. Fuck yeah. I have a sudden nationalist pride for some reason.

Heh, I was thinking your pride might have been stirred by the Aussie win Eldo ;) Poor Japanese though. I bet they all wanted to perform seppuku for getting completely destroyed with just 10 minutes before the match would have ended in their promising victory. I heard that Australia never scored a goal in the WC before now, which if true must certainly add another layer of humiliation to the Japs and pride to the Aussies.

And the Czechs completely kpwned the uhmerikan team. One of the German commentators made me laugh by saying "I'm not sure if the Czech defense is really good or the US offense is really bad"

I was more or less indifferent to how the outcome may turn out before the match, but right before it started I saw a clip of some of the US players saying things like "Hey, they're the Czech republic. Have they ever been in a world cup? Not to my knowledge". While he was technically correct, the demeaning patronizing asshole apparently failed to realize that Czechoslovakia has made it to the WC at least 7 times in the past, marking it as a team to take seriously. Not only that, but the qualifications for European teams in general are steeped in sooo much more competition that the US is subject to. Seeing him say that arrogant jibe fueled a burning desire to see them put in their place.

So thank you Czech for giving us 3 delicious goals, and hardly allowing any shots to ever reach your Keeper. Oh, also bravo for showing the world what the "Methuselah" of this WC can do ^_^ (They are actually referred to as such by some people because like 7 people on their team are 30 or over)

Heh, initially, I gave up all hope of Australia winning, but it seems Cahill pulled two miracle workers on us, and Hussy just scoring for fun. The Japaneses' expression at the end of the game was in a state of shock and disbelief, hell, I didn't think Australia had it in them, and to score 3 goals in the last 8 minutes. That was unbelievable. You won't believe how much coverage the TV are giving about their first World Cup win, and hell, first ever time they scored a goal in the World Cup. It was worth staying up to 1 am to watch it.

But the Japanese played a good game, there were moments where my back was filled with sweat as the strikers approached the keeper. They had great shots, but just missed by a little bit. It was a great match though. At least this victory means we wouldn't get in the deep so badly if we lost against Brazil, although a tie against them doesn't seem so impossible right now. They're have to fix up their defense though, they were really sloppy in the match.

I'll watch the Czech one later, have to probably find a torrent on the net first, the goddamn computer screwed up and didn't record it. Goddamn it. Seems like I couldn't get you the England VS Paraguay match after all, Mystic.

Italy owned. Too bad totti got injured, he played a fairly nice game. I hope they play every game like this. I didn't expect italy to be so offensive. Italians do the best counter attacks! WHOOOOO

wouldnt say that, Czech had some amazing shots. the game that was a amazing was Japan vs. Australia. Australia making a HUGE comeback at the 84 minute mark, WOW. Japan just seemed to have a crazy defense, but it just fell apart in the last 10 minutes.

I was in Prague this weekend too. Neat city, with things worth seeing, and the official sightseeing would have missed the dancing house (groovey).
It was also full of English fans. Where do you think they all piled up? In the Irish Pub...lol

I want to see Croatia play a great game as well, so I'll be rooting for them. Brazil doesn't need my encouragement in the slightest. One awesome team playing is cool and all, but a one-sided match isn't much fun either, so I'm hoping Croatia bites back hard.

Don't worry. Brazil depends too much on attack, and their defense is weak. So, it's always a great game because you keep having goal oportunities every time...

But since is my country, I hope we win ;)

France sucks soo much, they dont have a passing tempo, they are too slow for WC.

I think Korea will take thier spot in this group.

Brazil was a letdown but it will be interesting to see them when they actually go for full.

France has a great team but Zidane is slowing the tempo all the time,he is old and useless now(I hope they loose vs Korea so I am happy when Zidane plays).

Yeah, Brazil game sucks, they only had the goal. Croatia could win that match if they had made good use of their oportunities. What a pity
