Anyone here watching this series, I love how the characters look seems like it will be a pretty good series, I like how bones draw their characters ala WOLFS RAIN.

NARUTO + BLEACH doesn't even come close to the BEST MANGA= ONE PIECE

Well, I think this show is nowhere near 12 Kingdoms. It's too much of a super-kid show for that. But it has an interesting setting, and I'll see where it goes.
Edit: Have to say, it seems to get better once they shift ahead a few years. I based my initial opinion on the first few eps, but by ep. 6 it gets different.

this statement is narrowminded and childish. do you mean to say that of all the anime that had been made and all the anime that had yet to be made, none of them are allowed to vaguely remind me of 12 kingdoms?Libaax wrote:Whenever someone compares a show to 12 kingdoms i know they are full of shit cause thats show was one of a kind.
not only did i say it reminded it of 12 kingdoms, i also stated the reasons why.
for christ's sake, did you even watch the anime before making this statement?
finito,
now that i think about it, i think there is 5 mins of fighting in each ep. but its pretty engaging so i didnt notice.
and no, this is not a 'kids show'. the plot goes somewhere and there is a bigger mystery to be seen.

Well, the fights are well animated, but they are not the central point of the show. The plot is only just beginning to unfold, so I can't tell where it's headed, but it seems interesting. Overall, there ARE similarities with 12 Kingdoms, but that show dwells far longer on certain character aspects, while so far Jyu Oh Sei has been a lot of very quick story development.Finito wrote:Is the action decent? Is it all talk/drama/story and only 5 mins of fighting?
Edit: Watched Ep. 8. It's definitely getting somewhere, although I didn't understand how they got out of the chasm.
And Third definitely has an agenda of his own. If it wasn't clear previously, it's clear now.

Ep 9 will be waiting for me when I get back, so I might sacrifice a half hour of sleep to watch it.
Edit:
Damn the story is moving at an amazing pace, I just can't even keep up with my sympathy for the characters. They should have given Karin just one more ep. I didn't like her much, but she wasn't an unlikely follow-up heroine, or at least someone who would have enticed more sympathy with a little more time. Like that, it was just.... well, fast. It doesn't seem like she can make a big impression on Thor, with the little time they had.
Well, and yes, I'd definitely like to know Third's plan.

Well, they could have filled some more eps with the story they had. On the other hand, it's refreshing to find an anime that doesn't drag along.
I still don't get why they hurried it that much, though.
Does anyone know, does it follow the manga? Even though it's supposed to be shoujo I might just give it a shot if it offers some more content.
