Albator: Well Painter is as the name implies, made for painting. Photoshop's
main strength is photomanipulation. Both of their brushengines are different
from each other. It would really take too long to explain by words so you could
always download the 30-day-trial for painter @ http://www.corel.co.uk/servlet/Satellit ... ads/Trials
and compare it with photoshop.
Gundam_Bobcat: *bows* Yer welcome milord!
Devil_Dante: thanks!
Femto: Thank you! Yes, the fire in the bottom left corner is completely
pointless and the only reason it's there is cause i was too lazy to make a
proper background... *slaps self*
Not scanned... and actually nothing of berserk... :/
psi29a: You are most kind sir!
Albator&psi29a&LordMune:
42ndEndOfTheWorld: Technically you just have to practice regular painting, learn color theory, get a Wacom (much easier to draw with a pressure sensitive pen than a mouse). A tip would be :http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm
Sandman: Sk.net? Hmmm, well i tried some stuff in photoshop... not too much mind you, but i came up with something pretty similar. Pick a large soft brush set mode to linear dodge and you're done! The glowy stuff in my pics are made with a tool called Glow in Painter. I abuse it too much.
Quest: Agreed! x2

Good job again Ogar that is great... but there is a couple of things to say... the flame in the front is a background, and the green in the teeth  but all in all I like it... and I am jealous  I need to try that Corel Painter
I cant stop trying... it no Ogar but here you go

There are three differnet types of Glow in Photoshop and I tryed them all
Needed to put the eye in there also
I still cant get the armour the way I want

Seriously, I've become so jealous of the art in this thread I think I really will go out and get a pallete. Been meaning to for years anyway, but I've never even used on in my life.
But consistantly, people who use pallets always have better artwork than those who just use even the best mice.
Hmm...I'm better at photography than any other art. I don't have any decent Berserk figures (as soon as I have cash I swear I'll get some good ones.) Just some crummy $6 ones, but I bet I could take some interesting photos with it. Would that count as fanart?
I've actually done this sort of thing a lot with my other figures from other shows.
For example this from Samurai Champloo

Hmmm...
I took that picture as one of a long series of images for a photography class. The entire class agreed it was my best in that series (although not best picture I've ever taken.) Many loved it. Hell, I even photoshopped the wrinkles out of the background to make it even more perfect. I posted it in another board for a fanclub of that particular character, and they loved it. Therefore I assumed it would count as fanart.
Photography is an art form just as any other.
So "kinda dusty" is way off. There's nothing wrong with the dust being in this picture. Honestly, there's no way I could have taken the photo without it.
Not that I was asking for your opinion on that particular picture, but my hopes that people here appreciate good photography are dashed.
Please, I don't mind contructive criticism, but it would be nice if you guys said something positive about my work first. Anyhow, sorry to rant on you. I think the major reason I even joined this board was to make some Berserk fanart of some sort.

Okay good I guess I needed a thread like that. I would have started my own but I'm too new to try something like that.
But seriously, it was just an example of my work. Nobody has actually answered my question. Dam you guys are strict.
Now I really don't want to do this, since I'm sure you guys won't like it.

Stop victimizing yourself, no one here is judging you or forcing you to do anything.SarahofBorg wrote:Okay good I guess I needed a thread like that. I would have started my own but I'm too new to try something like that.

I just got irrated when things I put hours of work into get "it's OK" and "it's dusty."
Can you really blame me for not finding this fun? Especially when some one does a "quick sketch" and the thread explodes with praise...not to say the work doesn't deserve praise. But they're "quick" jobs and I've put a lot of effort into what little I've shown.
Look, if I really went out of my way to take some pictures of my Berserk figures, I would rather hear that they suck rather than almost nothing.
So if they Don't count as fanart, does that mean I should just start my own thread for it? Is that what I should do, to solve my dielemma here? To be honest, I don't think I'm going to bother. I really have better things to waste my time on.

Sometimes we can spend a million hours on something and it just won't be good enough.SarahofBorg wrote:I just got irrated when things I put hours of work into get "it's OK" and "it's dusty."

I've been there, you've obviously been there and everybody else probably has as well. You're being very childish by taking it so personally.
Ogar is showing some amazing work and people are acknowledging that. He is not trying to "challenge" you or show that he's "better" than you.
Just chill out.

I'm working on a pic. and I was hoping that you guys could help me. OK, from the volumes I have (non-EG I got them off of Ebay on a disc) the part where Guts walks back into the village after Qilopth (or whatever) and he looks at his new group (Ishi, Serpico, Shiercke, etc...) and remembers the band of the hawk and says "Companions, huh... " (next page) "Who would've thought... I'd ever have them again..."
Does anyone still have the Raw to that by chance? I just want the Japanese text of that statement, and that volume (26) is one that i do not own in japanese. i would really appreciate the help!
