Check it out. This is a color job by Sandman. Many think it is his best one.

See what I am talking about? Now I am no photoshop master like I said, so you may want to ask Sandman himself how he does that. Also, just trying to help with the criticism, don't take it personally.

Didn't mean to be harsh with the double posting thing, just trying to help keep things running smooth around these parts.

Yhea...I can see how he used a gradient, but outside of that I'm not sure how he does it.
I can be pretty sensitive when it comes to doing artwork of any sort, which is generally why I avoid doing it at all. I'm never as good as I want to be. Honestly, I'm trying not to compare myself to others, for there is no comparison. I got nothin on em. If you knew what my normal work looked like you might have been more impressed, but on it's own I guess it's nothing special.
Only took me almost 2 hours straight...
*sigh* sorry, I shoud just avoid doing artwork until I learn how to take critism better. I'll probably show it to my photoshop teacher and maybe he'll be impressed.

And...now that I look closely at it, I can kind of see a few pixels I forgot to fix. I guess it's not done.

It can be hard to take criticism some times, and usually people are not harsh at all. Only a few pricks like me notice the bad before the good. Don't let my "glass half empty" outlook discourage you. Especially if you have a class in photoshop. Keep working on new stuff and don't be afraid to post it here.

I can see why it says "Crusher of Dreams" under your name now anyway. I couldn't even *hope* to do the kind of work that Sandman has done yet, it would take me weeks of work even if I did, and I certainly don't have that sort of time.
But I am still learning photoshop, even though I've been using it for many, many years. Always a beginer, never a master I guess.

BTW, I reconize your avatar from Blade of the Immortal. At least my avatar is now more original than yours :D

Make two layer. One blank and one with the drawing. double click on the drawing layer (in the layer list box) and make the layer type «multiply».

then draw colors on the blank layer (it should be beneath the drawing layer).

Nice colouring indeed, I don't know about the eyes, but it works. The color scheme is more intouch with the Berserk universe.

ogar,
that is very beautifully done!
a lot of effort must have been put into it.
the realistic colours and shading and glow and light effects and fonts and all.
you must be a professional.

After looking at it some more, I have one suggestion regarding that piece and it is that you make Schierke's skin tone a little lighter, just to contrast between the two characters.

I'd love to see some more of your stuff.

Id like to see a pic of your hands after working so hard that piece. If its wet and smelly, just show me what you were jerking off on.

First thing this doesn't make sense to me, I will guess it's irony.
Secong thing, I thought we made it clear that having advertisements for recruiting wasn't the smartest thing to do here. I'm refering to your sig "RECRUITING EDITOR FOR TOUGH 1ST SERIE! For more info go Here"

Hey! Thanks for the comments everyone!
I was actually gonna make her skin lighter but i forgot...
It's pretty hard to find pics in berserk that i wanna color... cause most of them
are shaded so beautifully with either crosshatching or tones that if i want a
decent result i'd have to repaint everything. Bah! Anyhow... SURPRISE!
Image
From vol 19. I kinda dislike how the Caska part came out...
It already looked so good without colors...
and i maybe should've made another bg behind Guts.

now we're getting this thing rolling, great art coming out. I won't reiterate what has already been said.
When it comes to colouring you wish this text bubbles would not be there. I do realize that cloning them out would be a tough job.

Ogar, what do you use? If you say photoshop I'll kick you, cause there's just no way you can make something that gorgeous with photoshop.

And I've been doing it the hard way. First I screwed with the threshold of the image to make it contrast more, but unfortunetly you lose a lot of detail this way. Then I selected the white and deleted it (magic wand.) Then I made another layer underneath and painted that.
But there's always an easier, more effective way. I'll have to try that sometime.

BTW, I know I've been yelled at for double-posting, but I don't see how I could combine these two posts...

Edit Albator: that's how you do it, you need Psi to give you some of his dark magic. 8)

Photoshop is a very powerful tool in the right hands.

I'm pretty sure most professional colorists use it.
