Berserk Chapter: 272

i have been rereading the series again.
does anyone feel that guts has completely shed his "If your always worried about crushing the ants beneath you; you won't be able to walk." attitude?
when he first met puck, he was this arrogant and rebellious person. his philosophy was that the weak should die and the strong dominate. he didnt care for other people at all. the weak deserved to be plagued by evil because they cannot help themselves.
compared to the guts now, he has changed a lot. its hard to pinpoint but i think his friendship with the original band of hawks changed his character a lot.

I'd agree he's changed a lot, but if you're talking about the changes since he met Puck, it isn't the Band of the Hawk that changed him, it's his new companions and (especially) working to protect Caska. After all, when he met Puck the Band was already dead (their death at Griffith's order is a large part of why he was that way in the first place).compared to the guts now, he has changed a lot. its hard to pinpoint but i think his friendship with the original band of hawks changed his character a lot.
hmm you are right!Istvan wrote:I'd agree he's changed a lot, but if you're talking about the changes since he met Puck, it isn't the Band of the Hawk that changed him, it's his new companions and (especially) working to protect Caska. i got my chronology wrong... guts was arrogant and selfish after the band of hawks were all killed.
but before that he was quite the good and responsible guy.
i guess their death made him cynical. and his journey with his new party changed him to a good guy again.

I give the most credit of changing Guts to Puck, cause it was he who had to work hard to change his dark heart. When he met the rest of current crew he was already soft compared to his old dark, cynical self cause he had been with Puck a time before them.

wait a tick....didn't he swim in full armor with raider sword and Caska before? he said he wouldn't want to do it again but hell in this armor he's better. it shouldn't phase him...but then again he is getting a little soft and he also has a hole in his chest.
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!

Come on, the sword alone has to weight 300 lbs. I can swim with things that heavy any day of the week.
On a more serious note, I'm going to say it has something to do with magic either the witches or Serpico's winds.
Shit, I wouldn't clock that sword over 200 lbs. but you still shouldn't take physics so lightly. If the armor was a normal suit, it'd be a lot harder for him to recover, but as things are now, falling in the water isn't a terrible situation. I'd bet money against anyone here strapping on the sword and some full armor and climbing out of the ocean though, heh.
