Ganishka (anyone remembers the correct spelling?) seems to be just an extremely powerful apostle who has amassed even more incredible amounts of mundane power (i. e. taking control and expanding the Kushan Empire). As such, it´s not surprising that he doesn´t want to give himself up to Griffith who, though a member of the God´s Hand (God´s Finger?), is just a newcomer.

Newcomer not exactly, Griffith did conquer Midland, or a big part of it, with the original Band of the Hawk.

What I meant is that Griffith is a newcomer to the demon world (or whatever you like to call it), while Ganishka probably has been an apostle for ages.

I don't think Ganishka 'disrespects' Griffith because he's a newcomer, I think it's because he's not bound by the system of 'apostle serving master' scenario. He sticks it to the MAN!

How about this:

Gatts, in pursuit of Griffith's army, passes by the site of the battle where he killed Donovan, only to find that night falls, and Donovan's lone spirit rises from the grave for a second attempt.

Gatts, not having his sword at the ready (Farneze had promised she would "polish" it with fluids only she could provide), tosses Isidro before the ghastly figure of the undead rapist. Donovan, his face having been mangled beyond recognition, falters for a second, but greedily and happily accepts the substitute.

Isidro, pleaing for Gatts' intervention, is told by Gatts that the quickest way to become an enraged master swordsman begins with ass rape.

"After all," Gatts is believed to have said airily, "I wouldn't be half the man I am today if not for that figure before you."

He then walks off, leaving the two eyesores to their own devices, content to have killed two birds with one stone.

EDIT: Gatts would later come to regret this decision years after Griffith's demise, for little did he realize that his sarcastic remark held a vast amount of truth. Scientific research of the time, had, in fact, determined that ass rape had a strong correlation with swordsmanship and the success rate of revenge attempts.
