Forum Ideas & Suggestions

It is yet another time for people who want more out of Mindwerks to be able to voice in one place how to make this place better. I'll sticky the thread so that future discussions can go here in case anyone has ideas.

So, I guess we can just call this the Forum Idea, Improvement, Suggestion thread. The objective here is to figure out what is best for all of you.

Some key questions I have are:

* What can moderators/admins do to help make this a better place?
* What can be done to generally increase the volume of 'quality' posts?
* What can be done to get more people posting instead of a core group?
* What would you like to see here in the forum?
* Basically, what would make 'you' addicted to coming back and posting?

No one will be flamed for their ideas, we still would like to discuss them so speak up and have your voice heard.

Something that occured to me just now as far as getting new people to post here, is that this forum is pretty depressing visually.

I know we went through a lot of trouble to establish this as the Mindwerks template (I voted for it myself), but looking back on it, it's just pretty dead looking and uninspired.

I guess my suggestion is that we make this forum more aesthetically pleasing.

It's pretty boring looking.

I'll keep an eye out myself, no drastic changes however till we get more people on board.

also, it will be great if we can reduce the number of clicks it takes from the main page to change our av and sig,

the background is OK (I woed on it dammit!!!), but perhaps if not everything else was blue too, it would be a happier place

Maybe we should start up some mindwerks projects of our own. Like umm. Releasing other versions of chapters colored? Or making some music videos or some other multimedia projects. I've mentioned this before I think.

Releasing colored chapters would be pretty neat, I think.

Coloring them could be an incentive for people to join as well.

I don't think we have the manpower though.

I think new people are "afraid" to post, so maybe you could make this forum more "cute"? like a babycolor background? (I prefer pink though)

or a music track that plays while visiting the forums? you know like a song from the berserk game?

i kinda like to change my av/sig every week. its lame to you but that is one of the things that make me 'come back to the site'.
if you make it easier for people to express themselves then they will keep coming back i guess.

If anyone likes the whole colouring contest thing, people could post their colouring or fan art in that thread and I'll decide or you guys could vote which art goes in the next release.

Any ways, I don't know what exactly to do for reoccurring content. I tried some threads in gaming but they last for a week tops. As ya do.

I am at a loss. I don't know what else could be done to boost member activity...

I'd like to, but I couldn't find the time to do it.

If I see anything good coloured pieces on the fanart thread, I might put that in next week's release.

I do hope that we see more cool fan art by other people. I'm not too keen of the idea, but if you guys like it, I don't see the harm in it.

I'm still conviced that most are "afraid" to post, there are many lurkers that don't post. So we should show that we don't want any flames and stuff.... right? ... (wait, who am I bullshitting? )

I agree about the template this one is starting to make me depressed.

I would like on that is colorful,bright after being so long in the dark.

I would even choose the pink one before this one..
