Recalling my post on chapter 270 about the abilities of the Kushan sorcerer and how the fight will go.
Hmmm, well, he sure didn't turn himself in to some sort of monster and by his words in this chapter about how the old can't mimic stubbornness, it would seem he does not want to be reckeless like he probably perceives Guts to be. So, monster theory, wrong.
Summoning of more monsters, hasn't happen yet and I doubt it will happen.
Floating. Well, guess what, he's using tornados against Guts. Maybe he's wind elemental?
I wonder, isn't that bite mark on Gatts near his heart? Would he survive taking the armor off? I mean, obviously he would have to survive or goodbye Berserk series but I mean, would he survive without additional aid outside of his company's ability?
Hmmm.

I doubt the sorcerer is any sort of elementalist. At a guess, he is a really, really powerful sorcer (sort of like a more powerful version of Schierke) and that he can use any of the elements, if he wants to.Floating. Well, guess what, he's using tornados against Guts. Maybe he's wind elemental?

As to the bite, it looks bad, but it didn't seem to be that deep, so he'd probably survive for a while anyway, and as for afterwards, remember that they have two fairies, and fairy dust heals wounds.
It could be a problem, but probably her soul will be released (and will return to her body) when Guts deactivates the armor. After all, the armor is what grabbed her soul in the first place, so it makes sense that turning it off will release her.But yeah .. I'm wondering if I'm the only one worried about Schierkes soul ? From what I saw she hadn't returned to her body .. meaning she's still inside the armor or ?

This chapter follows a lot of Miura's foreshadowing something and almost making it happen. For example, when Zodd gives Guts the prophecy of the eclipse, Guts would have died if it weren't for the Skull Knight. The foreshadowing in this part came from the first appearance of Guts' wolf. The wolf said he'd kill all his friends and become the wolf, and when the berserker armor was activated, he became the wolf. However, Schierke's interference allows Guts to retain his human consciousness now.
Just an observation.

I'm assuming that the armor's magical nature is what permits this (which wouldn't be any odder then the other things it does) and the other overly flexible stunts Guts pulls in Berserk mode. I hadn't noticed the Spiderman corollary, but you make a good point. Hmm.... Maybe Miura just forgot to mention that he likes Spiderman?Have you guys noticed, with the berserker armour, Guts very often assumes the classical Spiderman stance in midair (with his legs straddled forward, like no real armour would ever let him). Except he has no webs to pull. And that even though Miura said he likes X-Men, not Spiderman....

I'm wondering how the hole in his heart is going to look. ^_^ Is it in his heart? or just real real close? Eh...anyway its a giant hole in his body so I wonder how that will feel alongside with his sore muscles.BaNaN wrote:Great chapter indeedI wonder how Guts will look when he takes the armor of again.. Maybe more white haired then before?
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!
Thanks for the chapter guys.
And I am glad to see Guts gain control of the armor. One of the things I enjoyed about Guts' battles in the past is that he used both his brawn and his brain to win most fights. Every time he uses the armor he just slashes everyone away with overwhelming power and that's it. It is much better this way to see him use his knowledge of battle to win fights like the old chapters.

Personally, my highlight to reading the manga is seeing guts go apeshit on anything really, whether it's little children turned into elves, humans, or trolls, watching him slaughter them is great. I don't care if he's wearing a silly helmet or not, I just like seeing the ass kicking, and the body count rise with each battle. One a second note how many people do you think the hundred-man slayer could take now?
Yes! Thank you (Team?) Evil Genius, for making my day - this was a great chapter after a REALLY bad day at the lab.
And, moving on to speculation: how many people can Guts take out now? Well, without the armor, he's on a par with Nosferatu Zodd's human form, so we can assume hundreds at a time without the armor. I can't remember (and don't have the time to look this up) precisely, but I know that Zodd's total had once been tallied as 500 men in an hour (I think that number's from the cartoon) - so that's my guess for Guts with only the Dragon Slayer. With the armor? Well, we just saw him take out...six? of those whale/seal/elephant hybrid monstrosities, and if each of those can take out 10 battleships on its own, and assuming each battleship houses a minimum complement of 100 sailors...hmm... 6x10x100...I'll let someone else finalize the basic multiplication...Plus, we just saw him STOP A MAIN MAST ON HIS OWN. Imagine if he pitted that insane strength against towers? For pure land-based slashing only though (i.e., not using other things to "cheat", that armor's got to push his total into the low thousands at least, I'd say.
And now, back to work...sigh...
