As I told my fellow group members, I feel conflicted now that Guts can retain some degree of control for the armour. I think it's awesome, yet I feel that the armour should remain as loose cannon or powdered keg, that's ready to explode. I guess I don't like Guts being overpowered, but I just know that the next couple of chapters are going to have some awesome plot development. I know Miura will pull through.

finally someone started to discuss the chapter!
=)

yea i dont like how guts suddenly wields tremendous control over his uber power armour now.
suddenly there is no fair trade off for all that power.

on the other hand, its interesting to see how thr armour, at least the helmet, changes as he attains more mastery over it.
we can see that the dog shape is slowly giving away to a more human shape.

Likewise. although he looked pretty cool 8)

I don't believe Gut's is about to become overpowered, it seems like he needed Schierke to shake of the anger and it didn't appear to me as if she knew how to let her spirit follow Guts within his armour... more like she was tugged along in some way. That's whats really interesting!

Did the armour do it?

I would assume that the reason Guts can maintain some degree of control is because Schierke is inside the armour and 'scraped away' some of the hate that powers it (thus allowing his consciousness some degree of control). i.e. no schierke = no control... and i doubt they're going to suck her soul into it every time Guts needs to kick some major ass.

Thanks for this chapter, cured my hang-over :P

I loved this chapter, furthermore I agree on that I would like the full use of the armor to be an unpredictable choice.
Then again I love it and dislike it at the same time :D

wow what an incredible chapter ! I was thinking with each new chapter recently that the story was really getting more and more interesting and this chapter is the best yet since they began looking for the ship.

There's details in that chapter that are just awesome. The fight is fantastic ! and look at the eye of Guts when Shierke try to awake him. The eye expression is perfect.

Also, the face of the sorcerer on page 13 when he realizes that Guts might be more trouble than he tought at first.

priceless

What I took away from the chapter is that Shrieke 'opened his eyes' while he was overcome with rage (amplified by his armour). Having such control of his armour, shifting in mid-air or as Sepicco put it "was that the instinct of the berserk, or..." which really drives home the point that if Shrieke wasn't there with, and 'awakened' him he would probably have been in worse shape.

This is indeed a great berserk chapter, and we have waited months (years?) for such a good one to come out. We know now that Guts can control his armour more exactly if Shrieke is there, however it looks like if she wasn't there then it would be bad 'ol Guts going Berserk style.

I think it is a fair balance that will equally bind Shrieke to Guts (friend level) like Skull Knight and Flora (did you see her face warm when she saw or thought of SK?).

the question is whether this is a one time thingie. shrieke needs to be binded to guts to 'open the eye') or does the door only need to be open just once and guts will be able to 'open his eye' by himself in the future?

time will tell.
but after seeing the berserk armour evolving through time, i doubt after all this effort it will be regressed back to its raw form again so easily. with or without shrieke's help.

Yes, "The Storm is Gone, his Eyes are Open!", he can now take full advantage of the armor without losing himself.

Thank you for making my weekend extra special.

PD: Farneses's brother is reminding me a lot of Corkus in those last panels.

Thats true PSI, cuz remember flora looked to Skullknight and said something along the lines of "Is he going to travel the same path as you?" So that could mean that him and Shiercke could join up and be a duo with her pulling him from the armor's grip. But yea, my favorite scene was her reaching her hand through and ripping the hate away from guts' eye. Awesome air battle that we were wanting to see..."Oh damn....come tomorrow, my muscles are going to be sore." That was great. Serpico thought he was going to have to fight him. hehehe silly little wind-kid..

EG, you have made my week even better...come to think about it I almost forgot about berserk (blasphemy I know but I said ALMOST ^_^) because Oblivion has been the center of my mind for the past few days since it came out. Keep up the good work as I and many others look forward to it with much anticipation. ^_^ W00t!!
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!
