I ordered Steven Niles' 30 Days of Night and I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
I also got the first New Avengers trade by Bendis and Finch.
Bendis writes a great fucking Spider-Man, many of his jokes in the 6 issue trade made me lol and Finch's art is just plain beautiful. The Avengers roster is kinda questionable (Spider-Man isn't really a team guy) but it was a good read through and through.
And I guess you've heard of Frank Miller's comic where Batman fights Al Qaeda.
...
Yeah.
Fuck Frank Miller.
PS: Let's get this thread back on track, I <3 comic books.

Frank Miller was my fav writer before i heard of Batman vs Al Qadia.....
Instead of doing a real Batman story like TDKR he does Allstar and now this.
If his next work isnt beyond amazing,i will lose all hope for greatness from him.
I havent read the recent Avengers where is Spidey is a member but that fricking sounds lame. What i always liked about Spidey is that like my other fav Batman he is a loner that doesnt like big teams. Wolverine another fav is also a member....good work guys ruining two great characters like this. Money hungry losers!!

Note that Wolverine is in all three X Men teams, in XSE, and also in New Avengers. All at the same time. He also does solo work as well.

He should only be in one X-men with his old team Cyclops,Jean etc and his solo series. But instead of that they wanna milk him as much as they can.
I read his solo series Wolverine its pretty good. Im reading vol 3 right now the Rucka run. I have vol 2 home too.
Cant wait for his Origins series it should be great seeing what he was doing in the "old" days.

He will always be popular if not for his story his powers are pretty cool.
Any one read Spider-Woman origin? Is it any good? I just read Amazing Spider vol 2 #6 where there were several girls who has been Spider-Woman once. Heh none of them had spider powers wierd enough.
Anyone know what happened to Mary Jane and Peters child? Did she really die at birth? It looked like the nurse stole her for Osborn. But then the story went on in Peter Parker comic and i only read amazing of the regular spider comics back then.

She died as far as we know.Libaax wrote:Anyone know what happened to Mary Jane and Peters child? Did she really die at birth? It looked like the nurse stole her for Osborn. But then the story went on in Peter Parker comic and i only read amazing of the regular spider comics back then.
Who knows if Marvel will bring her back.
There's an alternate universe story where she lives and goes on to become Spider-Girl, which is what that series is all about.
Heh read that her Spider Girl comic is the longest comic ever with a female lead in Marvel. They wanted to cancel several times but the fans didnt want that. Heh shows how popular Spidey is when his kid has a famous comic too.
Also read in wiki about Jessica Drew the current Spider Woman, lame how her power arent similer to that of a spider. I mean she can fly and stuff why not call her something else instead using Spiderman's fame to sell her.

Actually, Jessica Drew is the first Spider Woman, and the current in the Spider Heroes roster.
Spider Girl was one of those alternative reality titles that outlasted more than 12 titles. The others like A-Next and Wild Thing all died off while Spider Girl lasted like 90 issues or something and has several TPB copies.
Oh, and Wolverine is getting a bit tired and lame. They brag on about how great he is, but he's always the first one taken out of the battle by a concussion blast or something, and always the last one to end it (eg Xorn). Origins isn't really that good in my opinion. And Deadpool would own Wolverine.

Yeah i know Drew was the first and read that in wiki
No way Wolverine would be owned by Deadpool.
Wolverine always knocked out cause they like showing his healing ability.
Origins will be great cause i dont know much of his origins.
Wolvie only seems tired and lame cause he is in ten comics.
I just judge him by his own series and maybe by some X-men.

The story arc with him fighting Hydra and getting brainwashed by them is pretty fucking bullshit. I don't really like what I'm reading about Origins right now, it's just not hitting it for me. All these wannabe smart conspiracies about his history and involvement with Weapon X are a bit overdone.
And Deadpool DID own Wolverine. Back in Wolverine issue 90 or something, which had the cover of Deadpool impaling Wolverine with both his katanas, art by Andy Kubert. That cover was fucking awesome.
Wolverine does get owned a lot, and saying that it's to show his healing factor is a bit bullshit. He fights like a brute knowing full well that his healing factor would patch him up, but is still taken out of the battle for a period of time. What I hate is that he's always, always, the first person taken out of the battle. It's true that he can't die, but man, does he get owned by a lot of people in one punch or blast.
I still love Wolvie regardless but I feel a bit tired with the way the writers are doing right now. Even in his solo series, which is the main one I read right now.

Yeah the character is only as good as the writers make him.
I wonder if Ultimate Wolverine is as good for Wolvie as Ultimate Spider is for Spidey.
Have you read the Frank Miller Wolverine mini where he is in japan?
I like Wolverine in that mini he is written that he is more than a brute, that he is a noble warrior.
Its too easy for writers to write him as an agressive brute that is taken out in fights just cause he cant die.

If Eric the Red (Whether or not it's Cyclops in there) can shoot out hand lasers, while the hell does he need a gun? It's like having Wolverine in a knife fight. But that Juggernaut, he is tight. I thnk they need to put his voice over Vinnie Jones in X3.
/But I'm the Juggernaut Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch....

I think Erik the Red turned out to be a disguised Magneto, or something equally as stupid or witty as that.
PS: Spider Man's new costume is fucked up.

Well the original "Eric the Red" was Cyclops, and the suit essentially took the energy from his optic blasts and redirected it to the hands of the suit. He did that to infiltrate some Villian organization I think. Notice that he is not present in the team that fights The Juggernaught (Bitch!) so it's very possible, without knowing anything about the actual episode and it's context, to say that's him. But later on I gues the suit is stolen/copied and other baddies have used it, so it could be some nameless thug in there. But the question remains, why the fuck would a dude with energy shooting out of his hands use a gun?Eldo wrote:I think Erik the Red turned out to be a disguised Magneto, or something equally as stupid or witty as that.
