I made this pic which represents the network of a firm. But due to me being foolish, I saved it as *.jpg ... Now the pic has become "dirty". I tried removing the dirt with eraser but it kept coming back. Since some of you are editors, perhaps you can help me out by telling me how to remove it?
B/c I have a presentation and it's not pretty showing such a pic .

2. Get Photoshop.
at least one that gives advice! ty. Btw, I was doubting where I should put this thread... so don't bitchslap me if I did it wrong.
anybody else some other advice?
That "dirt" is called "artifacts." JPEG is a lossy format, so the JPEG is never identical to the original, always lower in quality. However, this is offset by a JPEG often being smaller than a lossless version. Noticeable artifacts, such as in your "dirty" picture, are when you heavily compress a picture.
After looking at the original, I would save it as a PNG. PNG is a lossless format in addition to it working extremely well with pictures such as the one you have.
I'm late and haven't looked at the image since I'm too lazy to copy and paste but I agree with arke. .png is better to use because it can match the size of the .jpg while keeping a better quality. Also, you'll probably want to fix your BBcode.
EG needs some help. Please feel free to contact us if you want to become a part of the staff.
