I've never played any of those games and I never said I didn't like them. I played Canvas Curse and I said I thought it wasn't God's gift to man (it just didn't pull me in) but that was it.

I've never said that games need new concepts or ideas to be good either. Doctor, lawyer, puppy or whatever game it is I've mentioned dislike towards just seem that more plain and lifeless to me.

The video game industry as we know it is barely over 20 years old and people are already saying that we're just rehashing everything and that it needs innovation?

roffles

Bottom line is, just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it's good.

And stop putting words in my mouth.

Does not compute. It's entertainment, surgery and court cases generally aren't relaxing IRL.

Sports games do not apply.
I see you're as observant as never.

Why do trivial, real life shit when you could be shooting aliens or slaying demons?

Why spend time doing shit you see every day when you could be flying a ship in a futuristic, fantasy or just a completely different world?

That's my point.
Your point sucks. It's your opinion, and I daresay many do not agree with you.
Your statement can be equated to "Why watch drama and comedy films when there's AWESOME SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY TO WATCH INSTEAD REAL LIFE IS BORING!!!!!!!!½11§1§11".

Terrible analogy, buddy.

Try again.

Then again, a game with good cutscenes has value for you, so comparing video games to movies sounds like something that'd make sense to you.

It's still just your opinion.

I must've missed the part where I said it wasn't.

I generally find people that rely on the "it's your opinion" routine to be highly amusing, as if they find solace or comfort in the fact that somehow, on a relative and very personal level, they may actually be right.

It's stated many reasons why puppy/lawyer/doctor/whatever game sucks, what have you and Tempest brought to the table aside from bitching, "but it uses a touchscreen!" or "but it's new/innovative/original"? Not a single thing. Are these games better than Metal Gear Solid? Better than Ico? Zelda? Ninja Gaiden? Rez? Metroid Prime? Resident Evil 4? All you've done is bitch, bitch, bitch and you've never put forth a compelling argument to even try to persuade me to change my mind. Name any game I've said to like before and I'll tell you right off the bat what's wrong with it, what they do well and what I like of them personally. The fact that neither you, Tempest, Ayanami or anyone else that likes these games has even bothered to explain why there are so good is just proof of one thing to me: they aren't good and all of you are just talking big without words to back it up.

Regardless, and like I told Buzkashi, any person can be of the opinion that Bulletproof is the best game ever, but does that make it any less shittier?

Just some food for thought there.

I was talking about the part of personal taste being inconsequential in a game being good or not, you know, the whole Madden thing I mentioned earlier. I didn't mean you liked Bulletproof, you never actually played it last I heard.

Still, some games don't need to played for you to know they suck.

Bulletproof is one of them.
