That's pretty impressive.

There's also a bunch of other stuff regarding 2005 sales in Japan in general.

A nice read if you've got time to kill.

Pretty cool stuff. But why wasn't DQ8 on there? Was it released in 2004 in Japan? I can't remember how long we had to wait for that game. I just know it was a long time.

As for Animal Crossing, I was thinking about picking it up, but it is really not my style of game. I would probably play it a lot for a couple of days or so then it would not see my DS again like Nintendogs. Money is tight for me these days, I can't get everything like I used to.

Yeah, Dragon Quest VIII was a 2004 game.

It's all in the article, just like the reason why Kingdom Hearts II didn't crack the top 5 (it was released in December).

It's an interesting read.

Yeah, I read the KH2 part, I missed the DQ8 part though.

It is indeed a good read though, on page 4 right now.

In comparison, the top ten best selling games of 2005 in America:

When all is said and done, the Japanese game industry just about destroys the American one in pretty much every aspect, except for number of sales maybe.

And Madden is the best selling title by well over a million copies.

American games.. sigh.. and my brother is one of those that love the episode 3 game, too bad he got pissed at the fact i could beat him in that game. block and throw and you are a god at the game.

i still dont understand why people decide to shell out another 50 bucks for a sports game that barely has any new features. My roommate had KH2 on preorder, these past few weeks all ive been listening to is a japanese talking donald duck, which is quite hilarious.

5 of the 10 games that sold the most are sports games. I wish games were not mainstream like the good old days.

That's one of my arguments against the DS and the retarded doctor and lawyer game actually.

Yeah, playing at having a real life profession must be loads of fun.

And now there's a cooking game?

lol

lol y save lifes in gaem wen u culd b getting medical dergee?!?!?!!?!+1§11

Does not compute. It's entertainment, surgery and court cases generally aren't relaxing IRL.

Sports games do not apply.

I see you're as observant as never.

Why do trivial, real life shit when you could be shooting aliens or slaying demons?

Why spend time doing shit you see every day when you could be flying a ship in a futuristic, fantasy or just a completely different world?

That's my point.

Nintendogs can also be added to the category.

All these games are retarded and are not games I would find fun or enjoyable under any circumstance.

Trauma Center does take a Japanese approach on later missions. This new disease spreading around the world is actually demond or something. So it takes a break from the norm there. That and all the magic and pentagrams you use later on.

Yeah, you're a mainstream gamer, no big surprise there.

And Kingdom Hearts is not the game I'd use to prove that I like good games, buddy.

Tempest: Yeah, and I'm sure that the lawyer game has some kind of supernatural shit as well, but you're missing the point.

For a system that tries so hard to be original and innovative, the DS isn't trying too hard to come up with new concepts.

I think kingdom hearts is a great game, same with mgs. Please tell me your not one of those guys that only listens to underground music and plays underground games.

Any MGS is an awesome game.

Kingdom Hearts has it's merits but I wouldn't put it at the top of the food chain.

You play Madden, dude.

I think that speaks volumes of your taste in video games.

Not to mention the fact that you considered the possibility of Bulletproof being a good game.

What the hell, I dont understand how madden has to be bad just because its sports. Its a fun game to play with your friends. Isnt that enough?

You have all the right in the world to like a crappy game, but that doesn't change the fact that it's crappy.

It has nothing to do with it being a sports game or not either.

A sport in itself is a game, so it lends itself better to the video game format than a puppy or doctor games does.

That doesn't mean Madden is a good sports game.
