Morlun did rip his eye out, but still retains his two eyes, since his old body's just an empty shell right now. WTF?

What are the writers trying to accomplish by butchering the characters? And what the hell are Marvel doing green lighting shit like this?

Also, yeah, I only have vague memories of spider-man from my childhood, but that is indeed a travesty and/or completely fucked up.

Yeah, I don't blame you, that shit is fucked up. I'd be too angry to type too when I found that out. Goddamnit I wish that writers would stop gettign this bug up their ass that they have to take spidey and other comic books heros to a "totally new direction". Go with what works, original non-mystical had both eyes no pity sex with the green goblin spider-man characters worked fine for over 40 years, STOP FUCKING WITH IT. For example, stuff like the Ultimates I think is interesting, new takes for a new age, OK, but a lot of the key happenings, characters and their relationsships are still the same. But when you start fucking too much with it and making it into some kind of comic book soap opera, no thanks.

The problem is that it's not even about fucking up Spider-man anymore (which they are doing anyway), the stories just sound plain bad.

I mean, Gwen Stacy sleeping with Norman Osborn before dying and giving birth to twins, one of which grows to adulthood all of a sudden and then tries to hit on Peter Parker?

That's just plain fucking stupid.

All I have to say is that is the reason why manga is slowly taking over the comic world. Manga series (except Naruto of course) know when a storyline is dead and usually just stop, not "take it in a different direction by fucking over the original".

i agree... that is an advantage of manga... the stories end... spider man has been in his 20s since the 1950s.. he's older than most of our parents... there should be a point when a hero gets to retire... let spidey hang up his number 23 jersey... let him be remembered... dont kill him off... just have him move on... after 50+ years of kicking ass in new york... you'd think the criminals there would understand.. ah fuck it... i need cereal

it's been ages since i actually read a spiderman comic. but damn talk about a big change. I have to say though that this costume isn't the worst they have done so far. They could have gone the way they did in of the side stories. THe spiderman 2040 or 2340 one... dunno exactly which it was anymore... as i said been ages. In that one he uses 4 bionical arms just like doc ock.

The legs are mechanical, I think.

Tony Stark designed the costume, hence the red and yellow motif.
