Thats for sure. Peter Parker is okay but Spiderman isnt what he used to be.

I have started reading Teen Titans vol3 aka the new Teen Titans comic and its good.

Im starting dig DC many good characters like this Donny Troy,a brother in Cyborg etc.

The recent Spider Man storyline is fucked up. Turns out there's more people like Spider Man, the 'spider people', who were bitten by a mystical Spider the same way Parker was, because the spider was about to die and wanted to past on its powers. Oh, and Spider Man just fucking DIED, and was reborn in a fucking cocoon.

I think it's about time that Marvel fired all their writers, and replace them with others that won't fuck the character up completely.

I read about Infinit Crisis and the coming Justice League of America,it looks like DC takes a better care of their heroes.

Hehe man i stopped reading spiderman back in 98,99 when the fake Peter Parker took Mary Jane and Spiderman from Peter,thats was it for me.

Now i only read Ultimate Spiderman cause it isnt f'cked up yet.

I have heard people saying Invincible is great. But when i read about it sounds like Spiderman+Superman. He is make a way for invasion,he has superpowers close to superman,his privat life sounds like Peter Parkers.

I guess people like it cause its like reading those two comics from the start or Kirkman has done something new with the comic that makes it popular.

I have start reading Nightwing,something makes me interested of the original Robin.

ya spiderman's story arcs pretty much suck.
the whole clone saga was a mess. and even now with the whole died and reborn nonsense... nothing redeeming at all.
JMS did a nice job with babylon 5 and rising stars but this is totally crappy.

anyone read 'powers'?

I havent even read 1% of my fav comic hero aka Batman,so im busy with him right now.

Since im reading a couple of DC superhero comics right now,im more interested in nun supero comics if you can recomend any.

Ellis is doing Jack Cross and has worked on Hellblazer,Wolverine,Ultimate Fantastic Four just to mention few.

I like his thrillers like Fell who feels like Hellblazer without the demons and stuff(so far anyway).

I find DC comics...boring. Except for Batman, really.

All the Superheroes are seriously overpowered, that they have to travel to another galaxy to fight creatures that can last more than an issue. Superman's a dick.

I did enjoy some DC and Marvel crossovers, like JLA and Avengers. While the story was pretty mediocre, it was great to see some of my favourite characters pitted against each other and the similarities in power and personalities between the two universes.

Powers is also a detective comic set in a modern environment where super powers are prevalent. the plot is very good. each arc deals with a new case involving super powers. the art is great too. a tad cartoony yet dark but its the characters and story thats the main draw.

Batman is the only reason i started readig DC,he is a great character.

I havent read any DC before, i only read Marvel before some Xmen,Spiderman so DC is fresh for me.

Superman i dont have clue how he is in his comics. The only supes i have read elseworlds or crossovers he comes and play mr goody-goody.

You all hate him cuz he has everything you dont have.

1. Superhuman strength, all straight men want to be stronger than the next guy.

2. X-ray vision, we all know what we would use this for.

3. He can fly. I would like to fly to, dont need a car anymore, i can fly anywhere freeof charge.

4. Godly speed. Yes we love to have this power too, cuz hell i can get anywhere and get w/e i want done really quick and more time to abuse my x-ray vision.

5. Bullets and other physical objects cant hurt him. Fuck yah i would love to have this power, i mean come on, this would be a chick magnet. Just have your friend's try to like hit you with iron pipes and watch, nothing will happen to you.

6. Louis Lane. Because you all know how hard reporters are to get and also how hot they are too.

7. His tights. Cuz only he can look that damn good wearing tights.

8. The "S" on his chest. Nobody else could wear it, cuz fuck'em they are super.

9. Clark Kent. His real side, his true side. Wears glasses to look different from superman, and shit.. we wish we could look that damn good with glasses on.

10. North Pole Ice Base. Shit.. i mean he is hangin out with S.C. you know the big red man. They must party all the time, fucking rager at the north pole.

11. Laser Eyes. i cant believe i almost forgot this. i mean LASER FUCKING EYES, i cant explain how fucking cool these things are.

12. The will to save humanity, rather than ruling it, though i think if he ruled the humans, they might be better off, since he would be in control, and i dont want to fuck with superman, do you?

13. Kryptonite. Now you are asking, why is this on this list? its his fucking weakness so what. This is the ONLY this he is weak agaisnt. look at us, fucking everything can hurt us, we are weak to everything, a fucking virus can kill us and those things arent even cells.

14. The sun. For superman to get his powers, it comes from the sun. He must have the best fucking tan EVAR. plus he is at the beach for this shit too, he must be surfing and liek riding every wave and every single girl at the beach would be all over him.

15. The bad guys are stronger. Well fuck, you think superman is all that, but shit if he is that strong and all the bad guys give him a good beating, fucking humanity is overm but noooo it isnt cuz this guy puts his ass on the line, give him some fucking cred.

16. Cuz you envy him. Thats fucking right, you hate him cuz he has everything you dont have. The male ego right there. Deep down inside you all wish you were some what remotely close to his Godly Complex.

Those are all the factors I don't like about him, super invinciblility. His only weakness is a goddamn fucking rock. The comics are so damned boring after that. It's extremely rare to find Superman a rival when he's invulerable and all. All his battles are so one sided when fighting enemies.

That's the only part I like, when Superman gets outsmarted and gets his arse kicked by Batman.

The fact is the only thing to own Batman ever is with Kryptonite. And it's boring in every fucking issue someone wears a green suit made of Kryptonite and kicks the shit out of him. There's a green rock in all those issues, and it's getting crap.

I don't see what I have to envy about him. Read Sandman, if you're talking about envying someone with near omnipotence, I should at least envy someone cooler and better than Superman.

Superman has decent powers but he isnt dark enough for my taste. I like characters like Batman that has a darkness inside not mr good-goody superman. Im not saying the comics are bad just dont like the character too much.

He's the quintessential super hero and that's all there is to it.

Heh another Batman fan,good to see people still like the dark knight.

Superman might be most known comic hero but Batman is more popular atleast according to what i see in the big comic forums.

His tragedy,his character,human strengt is what makes people like more than supes.

According to me Batman is character that has been done best. What makes the criminals fear him is why people like him.

On another subject do any of you read Ultimate comics? I have just started reading Ultimate Spiderman again and its a genius creation.

Its what i wanted to see in Spidey's early days but the early days in 60's AMS was way too campy and full of lame villains. Even it was genius for its time.

i read the ultimate titles.
i love all the titles. spoiler for UT spiderman:but i was quite disappointed that gwen was killed off so abruptly! i read rumours somewhere that they are gona do an ultimate version of the clone saga... hope its true and hope it will not suck!

if you like batman and michael bendis's work in UT spiderman as well, then you should try his personal creation in "powers".
