Reporter: You have a lot of satanic themes in your music. What exactly is your view on this subject?
Corey Taylor of Slipknot: Nah man, we’re about more than that. We just do that shit to scare the folks away.
There you have it.

Angry? Well of course I'm angry. That's a part of why I listen to Heavy Metal. However, I'm not angry about anything that's been said here. However, I think I understand what I'm talking about pretty damn well. I understand it a hell of a lot better than you do. I mean, you don't even really listen to them, or pay attention to the lyrics, as you've already said. I never said YOU were scared. Actually, I was never even really talking to YOU. I was just making general comments. However, if you'd like to "debate" some stuff, than let's do so. See, you say that Slipknot uses satanic themes, as shock value for money. Well, you obviously don't know what the fuck you're talking about. See, you're statements are completely groundless. It's fine to have an opinion, but don't say it like it's the truth man. I mean, you're practically talking out yer ass here. I mean, do you even really know anything about them, or what there messages are? It sure doesn’t sound like it. If you don’t like them, then fine. However, I know a lot about them, and I've read lots of material on these guys. If they were just after money, they'd be another sorry ass emo band. So please, don't give me this shit. Also, as more proof of you not really knowing what you're talking about, they DO practice what they preach. There's no where in the lyrics, you know, that stuff their preaching, that says anything about them being devil worshippers, or anything like that. No offense man, I'm not attacking you. However, you've just put some shit out here, without really having anything to base it off of, and so I'm just letting you know what's up. There aren't really any holes in what I've said, you just want there to be. The things I said didn't really have much to do with you anyway. Look, just because you ignore the lyrics, doesn’t mean you have to take what I've said personal, and try to throw some lame ass retort at me. That's how you roll. Good for you. I couldn't care less either way. I just think it's a little shallow, and fake, especially if you don’t even really endorse the music you’re representing. However, why should you really care what the fuck I think. Anyway, what "they're" saying, IS what they believe. I agree with it mostly too. You know, it might help if you actually, I don't know, know, what they're saying, before you presume to tell me what they're saying, or what they're about. Actually, I have a better idea, why don't we just forget about it.mrJotaan wrote:It sounds like you're quite angry and maybe you don't understand it as well as you think you do. I'm not scared at all by the stuff I've heard, I've just decided to stop listening to a lot of stuff. I understand you like Slipknot but the fact is, they use the satanic themes as shock value for money. Just because they don't show their faces at their shows, doesn't mean it's not about fame. If they aren't practicing Satanists, why do they preach something they don't agree with? I'm just taking your words and reversing the situation. This isn't a personal attack, I'm just debating what you said since there are a lot of holes in your statements. There are actually a lot of people out there that listen to stuff they don't agree with and they can do it because they don't let it get to them. It's actually quite easy to do depending on what you listen to music for. I listen to music for mostly the instruments, not the lyrics but I still do appreciate all aspects of it. You can also tell yourself that what they're saying isn't what they believe so it's all an act and you can bypass the contradicting views that way.
Edit: btw, it's not actually judging them if you stop listening to the music, I stopped listening because I no longer had an interest in what they said.I never said they were wrong in their beliefs, I just said I don't share the same views.
