Oh, why's that? Should I refrain from shooting people in the head, because that's what I do.SirAileron wrote:Remember to *not* get used to headshots. It comes in handy.

no it doesnt. head shot doesnt mean one shot kill.Gaiseric wrote:Yeah, me too. It saves on bullets.
Shoot them in the foot and then they have like one knee on the ground, you can run up to them and do a suplex and it crushes thier head. That is a the best way to kill anything that is your own size.
Another help hint, once you get to the village people that have their heads become that whipe like thing, a simple flash bang actually kills them.

... thats not a sarcastic remark is it?Starnum wrote:You can kill the parasites with Flash Grenades. Dang, who'd have guessed.
anyways, this becomes really helpful when you go agaisnt the 6 knights. Made the whole battle really easy.
someother things... never mix green herb with a green herb, its just a waste. You dont need a scope for any rifle, late in the game you get a thermal scope, which is alot better.
skip the riot shotgun, no need since the next shotgun can hold tons more ammo in the chamber.

beat the whole game and get infinte ammo for the hand cannon. which is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much cooler then the killer 7. Hand cannon was sooo worth it. BOOM! everything dies lol.BasouKazuma wrote:And when all else fails, go on a rampage with the Killer 7 gun.
I gotta get a cheat that gives you infinite ammo for it. That would be awesome.
Actually, I think i used my magnum to deal with the Knights. That seemed to work. Wasted all my ammo, but i made it out of there alive.
with the knights, with the flash bang trick, you can actually knife them pretty easily, since they take forever to attack you.
i think the bitch part was the blind claw guy in the cage, he was a bitch, since well he was like right next to you. Didnt know thati could just shoot the locks off lol.

Learn to do the camera quick aim trick. Not totally sure if it works in the ps2 version, but with the right anolog stick you can move the camera a bit. With that you can have Leon look either left or right while running. If you do hold it right and then press the aim button, Leon will immedately turn roughly 90 degrees to the right or left, so you cna take care of the guys to your right or left quickly without have to slowly aim to your right or left.Starnum wrote:Not at all. I really didn't know that. Thanks for the tips. If you guys have anymore, then feel free to post them.halfnhalf wrote:... thats not a sarcastic remark is it?Starnum wrote:You can kill the parasites with Flash Grenades. Dang, who'd have guessed.
That trick is VERY helpful in Mercenaries...
skip all the handguns till the blacktail, you should get the punisher for free (red9 is a cool handgun, but the blacktail is just a bit better). No need to buy the broken butteryfly, you can find it, plus killer 7 is cooler.
AHH this RE4 talk makes me want to play it again. Now i need to try out the ps2 version and see what extras they put in.
there is more things, but all in all HURRY AND FINISH THE DAMN GAME!!! I want to talk about MERCENARIES!!!

Broken Butterfly > Killer7. Broken Butterfly has a fully upgraded power of 50 while Killer7's is only 35. Killer7 just looks better.
AND ANOTHER THING:
Is it me or is this nowhere near as frightening as the others? It probably would have been frightening if they didn't play music every time an enemy was on the same map as you...the way the set up the music let the player know that there was an enemy on the map. So people would expect something to jump out at them or be there when they turned a corner. They music department for this game really messed up the scare factor. Sometimes silence is the best effect you can have on your audience.
The older RE's had silence...or calming music...and then BAM! Enemy pops out of nowhere. THAT'S when they que the scary music.

for the first time through, the killer 7 would a bit of a better choice, since it takes less money to get to the 35 dmg. though the 50 dmg on the broken butterfly was awsome, took too much money to upgrade on your first time through the game. Either way, Hand cannon at 99dmg= fuckk everything up.DarkenRahlX wrote:Broken Butterfly > Killer7. Broken Butterfly has a fully upgraded power of 50 while Killer7's is only 35. For me i think RE4 wanted to go with the whole "action" style gaming, rather then the plain old BOO! freaky mutated zombies.
Was it me or was the tactical vest just a fashion statement for leon? it didnt seem like it did anything, but just make him look bigger.

True, but that is what Resident Evil 5 is for. RE5 will hopefully go back to the zombie roots.DarkenRahlX wrote:I felt like that too with the vest.
And about it being an action game...it could have been thrilling too if they did music right. I mean there were some times that I wouldn't have know enemies would have been there. But the music gave it away.
anyone enjoy the extra costumes? What new costumes do they have for the ps2 version?

Doesnt' the Killer 7 gun shoot faster than the Broken Butterfly? I remember there being a huge recoil effect when you shoot with the Broken Butterfly. I think the Killer 7 had more efficient use of it's power though i may be mistaken since it has been a while.
On my second time through the game, i shot down the blind dude with my Killer 7 ... I just ran down there, kicked the door down, shot him like 2 times and he dropped dead ... fuckin hilarious!

Wait till you get the handcannon with its 99 dmg and take on the final boss, just skip the rocket launcer and the knifing of the eye, just pop another cap in the eye!

dont waste your money, you get the broken butterfly for free if you find it.Starnum wrote:I've been busy with the move to my new apartment, so I haven't gotten to play in a couple of days. However, the merchant now has the Broken Butterfly for sale, and I'm wanting to purchase it.
but save all your magnum ammo, those come hard to find late in the game when you really need it.

RE4's music is excellent and provides a great atmosphere and mood. Sure, you don't get the scary moments, but that's because RE4 is an action-oriented game. You say the music ruins a potentially scary moment because you know that there's an enemy nearby, but I'd say the music sets the mood better because you know those Ganado are around somewhere and you tense up. Once you get over the fact that RE4 doesn't want to provide the cheap scares, you'll enjoy the great atmosphere in the game. The music plays a great part in this.
If you want to be scared play Silent Hill.
That shit is freaky.

I remember I was playing SH3 one time. It was at night (I refused to play the game during daytime) and I was up against a boss that was hiding underwater or something. I was by myself, lights all off, sitting really close to that small TV and I was really into it when suddenly my homosexual suitemates sneak up behind me, scream and proceed to scare the living crap out of me. I screamed some spanish gibberish and literally jumped out of my seat.
I'll never forget that one.
