Underground hiphop, if your interested in more of party songs like the mainstream is today then you wont like em. These guys have more of a message.

Yea underground hip hop is more about lyrics and sending there mesages out. instead of just being a song you can bump.

I have a pretty wide taste in music. I can usually find at least a couple of songs I like in all genres (I think). However, I prefer Heavy Metal the most.

darken, i think you would probably like At the Drive In and The mars volta, a split off band of At the drive-in.

"After releasing several records on the Orange County punk label Fearless Records, At the Drive-In brought its theatrical blend of punk rock and social revolution to Grand Royal. You could call them El Paso, Texas's worst-kept secret. Their raw, explosive power dominates all of their records, but it blasts still brighter in their head-turning live shows. Combining the fury of Rage Against the Machine and the dub-influenced post-punk of Fugazi, At the Drive-In goes beyond any simplistic genre classifications. This is the soundtrack for a complex, thoughtful, and passionate underground revolt. At the Drive-In won't just firebomb your consciousness, they'll ignite it from within, imprinting the deepest recesses of your brain with their searing guitars and relentless rhythms."

A top ten is impossible for me so I'll just list my favorite bands and try to give them a genre

Stratovarius - Power Metal
Ajattara - Black Metal
Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - Black/Death Metal
Sentenced - Northernmost Metal
Sonata Arctica - Power Metal
Kiuas - Hybrid Metal
Iced Earth - some categorize this as Power but I'm not sure
Helloween (old) - Power Metal
Iron Maiden - Heavy Metal
Kamelot - Power Metal
Mokoma - Trash Metal
King Diamond - can't classify
Dimmu Borgir - Symphonic Black Metal
Cradle Of Filth - Symphonic Black Metal
On March 2006 Ajattara strikes back... damn... still 4 months
Itse---Kuolema---Tyhjyys---Apare
