I very much agree that gutts will never stray far from caska and will never join the ranks in the midland army, however, I disagree on how little you think he'll be in this war.
It has been building up for quite a while, and to have the plot only for griffiths side of the story would be in my mind not exploiting the potential this war could have on the travelers.
I'm not saying they'll stay to see the whole war through, but I estimate and would enjoy seeing them get sucked into the fight for the city before they move on.

Hmmnnn you never know what Miura will bust out. I mean i have no problem believing he would fight in the midland army. Again though. With miura its always a surprise, i mean who suspected that griffith was gona be an god hand and rape the shit outa casca ( T_T) .

That's what I thought first.TheDarkness wrote:oh guts might be in the war but picture it like this.... 2 armies rushing towards each other and guts standing in the middle wasting anything that comes within 2 meters of him (which is more or less the lenght of the dragonslayer)

Guts and co will be in the war cause they cant do anything but be in it if the kushans attack while they are there.
But look at this way even though Guts is beyond human strength he cant protect Casca in a battlefield.

I'm sure he could. I mean he did it when she fighting Adonis. And he saved her in the 100 man fight.

Thanks for another great release!
I also can't imagine guts taking orders from anyone ever again. but he is a nice guy, so if they want he might consider giving orders....
guts can't use his full potential when protecting someone since his movements become restrained. Though there aren't many enemies who would be able to defeat him even under these circumstances.
There also seems to be one noble who might remember guts. I think I've seen him with lord raban before, but I don't know the name. can't wait for the next chapter...

well guts can indeed not use his full potential cause that would require him to use the berserker armor and when he uses that thing he'll kill anything... if casca were to close he might even cut her in two even though he does not want that but the armor has a life of its own and then there is still that inner demon of guts

There are more than a 100 man in a battlefieldBuzkashi wrote:I'm sure he could. I mean he did it when she fighting Adonis. And he saved her in the 100 man fight.

And as the other above me said many things can go wrong in a battlefield that Guts cant protect her from.
If he fights a gurilla warfare than he have bigger chance saving Casca than in all out war.

I think the most important difference between the previous battles like the 100-man fight and so forth and anything that happens NOW is that before, Caska could fight as well. Now she can make funny noises... not conducive to survival on the battlefield.
I think Guts's prescence in the city is going to screw up Griffith's plan to swoop in and save everyone after the Kushani armies have softened them up just right. Remember, Griffith wants to be the hero as well as the supreme ruler. Easier to take control of everyone and everything if they hand it over to you.
But Guts may draw the focus of the people and fill the role of the saviour that Griffith intended to take. How that will affect the larger plot, I couldn't say.

Hey, thats why I offered to help host EG's work. Berserk is great, and I'm addicted to the crack that Oro aka Nazgul gives us.
I have wild theories of my own, Femto/Starnum/Eldo think I'm off my rocker on most of 'em.
We will just have to see what happens before I stand above a table with a bottle Jager and scream "TOLD YA SO!".

I forget his name, but one of Vandemion's sons. Maybe he wasn't pope but I seem to recall him being high up in the church's hierarchy.Which pope guy?
As for Guts becoming a Midland Soldier again, I seriously doubt it. For one thing Midland and its armies have been almost completely destroyed by the Kushite invasion forces. For another, I strongly doubt that Guts has ANY love for Midland, period. Considering what happened to the Hawks after he left, and the king's relentless attempts at killing every one of his former comrades down to the last man.

Oh and isn't Raban the guy with the beard? I thought the guy who recognized Guts was named Owen.
When I said that Guts may strike a deal with Vandemion I didn't really mean that he'd swear undying allegiance to any particular kingdom or lord. What I meant was that he may agree to take part in the defense of Vritannis for a price. Guts spent most of his life as a mercenary after all, and fighting is something he does well. It doesn't seem too unlikely that he'll take advantage of the current situation and aid the Holy See Alliance (quite temporarily) in exchange for passage on one of the finest ships at its disposal. I figure rather than taking orders from anyone he'll simply be put in command of a regiment of soldiers. The whole point of any cooperation would be to acquire passage on a ship. Otherwise they'll have to commandeer one, and then who will pilot and navigate it? Has Guts ever even sailed before?

i can't wait until we know how all of the god hand members came into being. i bet it will probably be crazy, like how griffith became femto.TheDrizzit wrote:PSI, I was also entertaining that idea. I told my brother to think about if Void and SK were the same (kinda) story like Griffith and Guts....I'm with you 100% I love Berserk because you never know....^_^
