I could be completely wrong, but isn't Jill the girl from the village during the Roshinuu section, and Luca the prostitute who saves and protects Nina?

Could be totally wrong though...

And Caska wasn't a whimpering coward like Nina is.

Steeples scrape the sky, Praising God.
Everything here exists for God, is sacrificed to God.
For those who have nothing to sacrifice,
It can be a very heartless city indeed.

Yes and yes.

I can't say Casca is that much better at the moment.

Yep, basicallywhat Artezul said.

I don't think Nina and Casca comparisions make any sense whatsoever. It's like comparing a stick and a computer.

Heh, yeah, it was like a mass sacrifice...and almost everyone died. I think that was the point. So a few people lived, I don't think they are really branded. It was all an imitation anyway.

I don't think they're branded. They were killed because that was what the behelit apostle wanted. "A new world", so those perky peasants should be ... eliminated :)

In my opinion...

The area was branded not to sacrifice the people there. But the behelit had said he was giving the world. The brand was on the surface of the earth. Symbolizing that it was given to Griffith as sacrifice.

I still think that killing the peasants (not sacrificing them) was part of the "behelit"'s wish. He would sacrifice the land, in exchange for a new world to be reborn. Then, for this to be acomplished, everyone that hated him, or made him suffer, would have to die, and the new White Hawk must be born...

The only thing I think was a coincidence was the Casca and Gatts child being there :)

there is no coincidence... only the force :P

but what of that priest guy... i don't think he was an apostle all the time... so how did he become one without using the behelith?

oh boy, back to basics

so the Behelit apostle had a ahbit of showing up randomly and granting apostle-powers to people in deep shit (usually the baddies)
like the goat guy who was the leader of the cult and wanted to rape Casca, and Mozgus and Co

What? I'm not sure that is what happened...I think that when the behelit apostle started the "cerimony" demons started to appear...one of them possessed the goat guy.

As for Mozgul (sp?), I don't remember where he got his powers. Is it mentioned?

if I'm not mistaken he even claims to have granted power to those who had none

IMO the egg guy is one of the most intriguing characters

That is true, but I meant that behelit boy is one of the few apostles whose motives we know sth about. It is interesting how he didn't want to use his powers for his own selfish and wicked goals, but wanted to change the whole world.

(in a way he did)

and Skull Knight is of course my personal favourite, I WISH HE APPEARED MORE OFTEN.
HE EVEN DESERVESD A WHOLE VOLUME OF HIS OWN. :P

Yes, now that you're saying, I remember his "tentacles". SK cutted them off, didn't he? Or was Gatts?

Anyway, this egg guy was one of that things in berserk that leaves you..."wtf?"

I still don't get it all, you know? Still wondering who the heck the children from Gatts and Casca is - the boy on the beach or the reborn Griffith :P

griffith is the child of guts and casca. He says so himself directly after that part when he meets guts at godo's place. He somehow notices that his heart is beating faster and wonders if these are feelings that were left in casca's and guts' child

Nope he does not say that, he just says that there was something (the child) in him that left some emotions for them resp. held him back.

Maybe he took the childs body, but it isn't him.

off course he isn't literally the child of guts and casca... would be one hell of a growth... The body he possessed (if that is the correct term) is however originally the child of guts and casca (however due to the fact that griffith raped her during the eclipse it wasn't completely human anymore). and that is what he says on top of that snowy mountain with all them swords

should have written that other post a tad bit different to make it less confusing... but what is done is done
