sooo.... unless we get more voters up in here, the switch is to bbtech.

I'm keeping the poll open longer.

edit:

I've switched the default skin to BBTech, for those that like the Aeolus and want something easier on the eyes (which is beyond me, bbtech is easier on my eyes), I'm leaving Aeolus there for anyone to use. I'll try to keep it up to date with all my future additions to the forums.

BBtech is fine, and dark colors look good too. But the EG logo on the top of the Aeolus beats the one on Mindwerks skin unfortunately. Aeolus looks more like EG's forum than BBtech. For me that is.

Considering that it is the Mindwerks forums, I would have to dissagree with ya panic. However, Mindwerks hosts Evil_Genius on many fronts that include torrents, downloads and forum space, it is still fronted by me and paid for by me.

However, if someone would like to create a better logo, then by all means.

Aeolus is still there for anyone to use, just the defaults have changed. No one is forcing you to use bbtech.

I dont get why make bbtech the default, i liked it better when the style of your choice was the default. Its annoying to change styles everytime i log in.

well then use the option to stay logged.... i never have to log in again or change the style... it's much more convenient that way

I cant do that since brother Shaka Zulu uses the same comp.

Its not a big problem but it would have been better if it was as it was before this change for us who use Aoleus.

It was never like that. Im pretty sure it was just always aeolus as the default. But since more people liked BBtech it was changed.

Style is based on what the end-user wants, the default choice in style is there for new users and for guests. Since you (libaax) have a different account than your brother, you then have your choice in how you want to view the forums. Just goto your profile and change it to Aeolus and you will see it as Aeolus till you log-out. When you log back in, it will be Aeolus, it is a one time thing you set.

Now, the default style was changed to BBtech because majority of users wanted it that way. However, I plan on supporting Aeolus for those that like the lighter style.

You have that choice.

I don't really think that BBTech is harder to read (even though most avatars look better against a lighter BG), it's just that it's easier to see what thread has new posts with Aeolus. A yellow icon if there are new posts and a blue one if there aren't, it's that simple. BBTech is a mess in that area, with blinking icons and similar colors in them.

And 'Mark all forums read' is perfect for somebody that never reads the Anime or Manga forums like moi. BBTech didn't have that last I checked.

Yeah i see now that cause when i logged in the style changed to aeolus,it didnt the first few times i logged in after bbtech became the deafult despite i choosed aeolus in my profileas. So i thought i have to change to aeolus everytime i logged in.

Now its perfect for us who like aeolus and those who like bbtech.

phew, i'm glad. thought it was a bug you were getting at... so long as it isn't a problem, please let me know if there is.

right now, ther eare a few 'weird' things that the PCP introduced into both Aeolus and BBtech, bear with me while I try to get everything sorted out. I'm busy at work... for example, i just got home from work at 9:20PM and I've been at work since 9... soooo, yeah.

thanks much, I appreciate everybody's support.

I was on eBay yesterday at lunch and bought a new 1u rack mountable server, dual processor and SCSI drives.. the whole nine. Can't wait till it arrives.

What this means (translated for you all), is that soon, I will have a server dedicated for just myself and Evil-Genius, that means torrents, forums, downloads, etc etc. Right now, we are on a 'shared' server with lord knows how many other people. It has worked out quite well since I left my old job, however the site speed hasn't been like it used to.

With this new server, since no one else is using it... just myself for my needs and you all, you will see forum speed be top notch!

PS: for the curious, the server was $400 USD and that included shipping. It is a Dell 1550 1U rack-mount server, aka "super thin server", and it is being shipped to my work. It will either be co-located in Pennsylvania where the current forums are located now, or in Richmond VA at my corporate office, or in a bunker in Colorado. Whichever is cheapest hehehe.

what the specs on it? i heard those things are really nice. Back in the hc gaming times, my friend had an ibm server for cs.
