Ha, I had all three but I sold my PS2. Dreamcast is still my favorite system though.

Nice, if you want any games, let me know. I have just about all of them. Well, all the ones worth having, I think, and some that arent worth it.

I love my DC too - too bad Sega doesnt know how to market. They always seem to be ahead in the tech specs too T-T.

Anyone know if the limited edition with the statue is still around? Didnt have the dough when it was released T-T

Going way back, this is the website (http://ultimateconsoleguides.com/SlideCard_Inst.pdf) that shows what you need to do to use a slide card instead of a mod chip. Its easy and fun.

PS: Guess who got thier very own copy of Berserk Today. I'll have a review for ya soon.

Acording to IGN and Gamespot, there are no plans to a) port this game to another system or b) bring this game to the states.

Therefore, no bitchin from you. Import the sucker and buy a mod-device of some sort. As we have covered, while expencive, its not all that tough (and the game uses minimal Japanese--well besides talking of course--)

PS: and as for Eidos (spelled correctly here) check out the list of all games they have published, then ask if they're still making games. http://games.ign.com/objects/025/025024.html

Goddamnit. AFTER the fight with Mozgus... That was my favorite part of the manga, other than the fight with Wyld maybe. Damn.. thats a bummer. Can anyone tell me what role Ishidoro and the others play? Are they NPCs that fight with you or what?

You can "call" on them - as in press a button and they help you in some manner... I think.

Yep, that's correct. You can also make them stronger by buying up their levels with your XP.

Yeah, I've gotten to play it now. I like it for the most part, but I really hate how they did the ally system. Seripico was my favorite of Gut's new comrades and all he does is stop time!! I would have much prefered them to simply be NPC's that fight alongside you. and what in the sam fuck does Schierkes spell do? I don't notice any difference when I summon her.

Heh, of course I have the game. I’m a super fanatic. :P

Yeah, I would’ve preferred to be able to play as the other characters or something. Oh well, you can’t win them all.

As for Serpico’s ability, it doesn’t make any sense. Since when could he stop time? Seems like that pulled that one out of nowhere. Heh, I too am still a little unsure of what Schierke’s spell does. I think it temporarily increases your defense though.

Since with his cloak he can dodge things easier, in a sense moving faster, they maybe in an attempt to convert it to game terms made him stop time instead of speed you up. But that shouldn't effect Guts only him. So who knows.

Yeah, I thought of that too. I think that may be their excuse, which is still lame. Really, it was like, “Hm, what functionality can we give him?” Ah well, it’s no big deal, and it did come in handy.

Question for the people that have imported this game: Are you using Swap-Magic disks to play it? I'm thinking about getting it, but I've read on other forums that people have had trouble with it and Swap-Magic.

hey for all you out there... i downloaded this game about a month ago and its still sitting on my hdd... i tried to use it with PCSX2 but i got as far as some jap gibberish and then it stopped working... my guess it was something about either the wrong country-code-thing (regional hardware?) or it cant find the mem. card

anyways PCSX2 is still in development and for now the only framerates you can get from it are about 5-25 fps on a lame 32-bit system... which is what i have..

right now they are saying that since the ps2 is a 128-bit system the only types of computers that have a chance of running a ps2 game that is remotely "playable" is with a 64-bit system with highend everything

maybe you like? no like?

I know that IGN has a game guide for this game, but does anyone know if there is a translation of the dialogue in the game? I know the story is taken from the manga, but I wouldn't mind being able to read along while I play the game. I wonder if it's possible to hack the game, and translate the Japanese it in, ala unofficially tranlsated FF 5 and 6 roms before Square officially released them in the US.

Problem here is that 128-bit is just a gimick. The only true 64-bit systems that are out are from MIPS (n64 and the original PSX) and powerPC (made by IBM that are used by Macs and GameCube) . I know, because I'm a mips developer. However, those are emulated quite well on 32-bit systems like x86 (Intel, Amd, Transmeta, etc etc). The hold back on "speed" is actually the bandwidth it takes to handle the visual data. Think textures, the bigger the textures, the bigger the pipe-line needs to be to handle the data not the CPU. This is typically fixed by the video card in that it has a HUGE area to store the textures, why not just dump all of the games textures into the 256 and soon to be 512meg video cards. People have been saying for years... "you can't emulate that, its too bad ass". That has been broken time and time again. Everything is emulatable and give it time, be playable too. So, no. Just because something is "128 bit" doesn't mean anything. It is just a gimmick. It could be two 64 bit cpus like the case was for genesis and their two 8-bit processors named "tom & jerry". It was a 8-bit machine, like the nintendo, except it had two of them... and they claimed 16bits. Thus, there isn't a 128-bit machine. It is all just smoke and mirrors.

Yes, basically what Psi said :P. You should know that it's known as a EMULATOR, it emulates the PS2, not necessary just because a console's processer is that of a computer it should run flawlessly, heh, really depends on coding and shits I don't care to understand :P . PSCX2, to my knowledge, is not fully functional, cannot run 100% in some games without errors. While it is playable (barely), there are still many flaws (running at 5 fps at a high performance machine)

Don't get your hopes up, I'm estimating that it'll be fully functional in about 4 years or more. Heh, I used to be in the whole emulation scene, gave up after a while. :P

by the way, how do I proceed when i've pushed back the trolls behind the bridge? I don't understand too much japanese and so I don't know what I am supposed to do...just slaying every troll doesn't seem to stop.

I’m not sure if I’m reading you right, because your question is slightly vague. However, have you tried eliminating all of the Hell Zones? Man, it has been a bit since I played, and I may just be confusing this with annihilating all the trolls in the area to get 0%. Anyway, are you in Inock? Like, is it during the church scene, before you fight the Ogre? If so, the Hell Zones are the places where you’re in a barrier and you have a swarm of trolls to take out. I’m sure you know what I mean. The area is big, and some of them hide in the North East. There’s a big grassy area up there, to the right of the river, and up on a shelf, by the road. Anyway, they hide a few Hell Zones there *shrugs*. They're all over really, but I don't think you have to get them all now...
