It has been pretty slow lately. No denying that. I do believe he paced it better before, keeping the fighting mixed in with the story. I almost think that is another reason for the pirates is just to add a small fight in with the story. It was funny and somewhat entertaining, but I would rather the story progress faster.

I have enjoyed the slow down dont get me wrong its just I havent seen guts lay on his back for so long, its kind of funny. I have liked all the choices that have been thrown at the crew though
Schierke Hawk or Guts
Ishidoro Pirate or Guts
Farnase Marriage or Guts
All but Farnase has chosen Guts and in the end I bet you she will come around.
and about Guts drownding if he did go overboard, he could probly walk the bottom of the Sea until he came to land.

Guts is new Griffith. People follow him without being forced too. They follow him because they respect him as a leader, warrior, and man. She will come back and join by his side in his small group. It will grow and soon he will have an army of humans that are strong enough to rival that demon army that is shamefully known as the Band of the Hawk.

oh snap, that puts a new idea in my mind! wut if gutts grows his own band of the hawk and then he verses the new band of the hawk?Arresty wrote:Guts is new Griffith. Brings back his arm wtf? Instantarmgrowth? And you forgot about his eye.
I don't think that Guts will have an own band. He's not the type to lead people. Even if he was the leader of the raiders. At one side he likes to have companions around but on the other side he hats it because he knows it's to dangerous and he don't want to lose companions again.

That’s a joke, right. Of course he wouldn’t be able to breath under water.Sandman wrote:...and about Guts drownding if he did go overboard, he could probly walk the bottom of the Sea until he came to land.
If he did fall in, he’d totally be able to swim. He might have some difficulty, but I mean, he’s the Black Swordsman, he’d be okay. That would be ironic though, after what he said before.
You know, it’s funny. When Farnese first asked to follow him, he was all like, “Do whatever you want.” Heh, now he’s going to get her back. It would seem it’s mainly for convenience, but I think it’s more than that. If she really doesn’t want to, and Gatts doesn’t think she’s in danger, he’ll leave her. Part of him probably likes having her around now though, you know.

Yeah Casca has grown attached to her, and no one else has been able to keep her under control since Farnese left. I do believe that if she says no then Guts will just walk away. I think he just wants to see if that is what she really wants. I believe that slowly but surely Guts is becoming a great leader with alot of Charisma(in his own strange way). The way she idolizes him if he came to her and asked her if she wanted to come back that he would want her over the boat then I think she would jump all over it. Also I think Serpico feels she is in danger with Guts, which is true, but that is why he is fighting Guts now. I think he knows she will go back if she knows he is coming for her and he does not want that so he is trying to stop it by all means.
Edit: I removed Gus's story and added Guts's story. Gus though a lowly farmer is a very interesting man that one day we should go to great lengths to discuss.

Well, on manga realism I suppose Gats could swim with a 200lb sword and a 200lb armour on, but in any other more restrictive reality......
I also believe he'd stop wearing the armour if he went to sea.
As to the difference between the Gats that said "Do what you want" and the present Gats, it's called character development, and it's what all these past chapters have been about. Which is totally fine, because changing important personality traits from one day to the next (while probably prominent in manga/anime) is not really realistic.

Gutts would definitely need a "people person" to help him with recruiting, I mean if people weren't scared by him they would be once his psyche was swallowed by his armor and he slaughters his own men. So, he needs a good PR person to smooth over such occurrences.

People will want to follow him. Look at the people currently following him. They follow him knowing the risk, also anyone scared of Guts is not someone he needs in his group. The God Hand and even the apostles are much more terrifying than he is, so if they are scared he is better off without them. He wants people who want to follow him because he is strong and because they want to be stronger.
