It did die a harsh death, unfortantly it seems that data was lost after 1AM EST last night, BurstNet made a copy at 1AM and moved the server and left the old server still running and accepting posts... the switch to the new server was at 12PM today (5th). They told me that I wouldn't notice it, however that isn't the case because you guys are all over the world. :P I shall give them a good thrashing.

Good news is that server performance has increased. ^_^

I apologize for your posts getting timewarped. *bows deeply*

Ah okay then, well it can't be that hard to do it over again ;-)

As far as I know the inquisition was an organization only under the catholics (Spain, france, italy) church. I have never heard of it in the protestantism view of christian belief. On the other hand the protestants was good at burning people, but well the catholics led by the inquisition was good at it as well :)

The inquisition as far as I know was a Catholic thing, but they did have protestant witch hunts as well, it was just not known as the inquistion. And they tortured the victims as well, and were much more severe than the catholic church ever was.

All this talk of Inquisition makes me think of "The History of the World Part 1"

"Behold the great Inquisitor Talkemada. Do not ask Talkemada for mercy, do not ask him to be leanient. Do not ask Talkemada to be kind. Hell, you can't Talkemada anything."

"The Inquisition! Let's begin! The Inquisition! Look out sin! The Inquisition, what a show! The Inquisition, here we go! We know that a lot of you want us to go away, but the Inquisition's here and it's here....to.....STAAAAAAAAAY!"

That and Monty Python.

"What is this, the Spanish Inquisition?"
*Dun dun DUN (Dramatic Reverb)*
"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

I loved history of the world part 1. It was so funny. The inquisition was great, but the roman part was the best. With Comedius the stand up philosopher.

there was a purpose to the Passion. knowing what happenned to jesus isnt the same as seeing it. the visual images of seeing JC whipped and all that good (well i guess bad) shit is a lot more dramatic than a passage tellign you what happened. though i do think he over did it by a lot. The movie definitely got a lot more people to appreciate what that funkadelic rebel did for humanity. and it wasnt martin luther it was JC who started the whole chabang :P.

your half right. There was a purpose, but you got the purpose wrong. The purpose was to make lots and lots of money for Mel Gibson.

The money Mel Gibson made... has yet to go to any charitable organization. Don't get me wrong, there are outlets that sell his DVDs and those proceeds go to organizations like CCC and Tsunami Relief efforts, but the fact remains; Mel did it for the money and hasn't donated a cent. He is a greedy rat bastard.

And the church goes after D&D who probably barely makes much money, and is not sinning in any way that I can see, but not after someone who uses God as a way to line his pockets.

Well I guess the church does the same thing. Its amazing how much money people put into their churches.

Wizards of the Cost makes money. WoC owns TSR, TSR bought the rights for D&D from Gary Gygax and released as AD&D.

WoC makes Magic the Gathering (and others) and all of TSR assests. That amount of money is actually worth more than Church of Scientology. Just the way it is.

I know they make money, I was just refering to they don't make as much as Mel Gibson made off of passion. I know the books don't cost that much to print, the profit off of each of those books has got to be massive, but still not going to add up to Passion profits.

Uh, they have made MORE money than Mel Gibson has made off the Passion. That was the point. They either created their own content, or have exploited ancient myth. Mel exploited religion, there is a bit of difference.

i dont know if its just me, but i believed the zealous, borderline "crazy" look in Mel Gibson's eyes when he spoke of his religious convictions.

Man I wish I was as smart as Mel. Would have made millions and got laid(he's married) at the same time. Sorry guys but the charities would get the short end of my stick. Only Salvation Army would prevail because they have Santa outside any major store.

I like Mel Gibson alot, just not passion. He also has the lethal weapons, the first one by far was the best, he was actually crazy in that one, and who can forget Mad Max and the Road Warrior, especially you people from down under.

Also psi I guess I was refering to over a short period of time, not over an extended period of time, but yes I am assuming they have made more money over time, between magic and AD&D they would have made alot of money, since they are both the biggest in thier respective genres. Plus you have all the games that are based on AD&D they make money off of that as well. But I guess more my point is I think it should be more wrong to exploit the relgion to make money, then to exploit something else to make money. But I think my point ended up back firing majorly. :stupid:

Any who, I liked Mel Gibson in Braveheart and all that, just The Passion made me kind of think he is a douche bag.
