Welcome to the wonderful world of NewAge. Let this guide help you building your character and showing you the way things work here to you.

Race
The first thing to do is choosing your race. The choices are human, vailon and xion. Humans are generally universal. Vailon are magik oriented and so gain spells and magik skill much faster that the other ones, but in battles they suffer a -10% power penalty. Xions on the other hand get a 10% bonus to power from being battle oriented. The choice of class is yours to make but the differences are as follow:
Cavaliers get bonus to power, monks get bonus to speed and thieves get bonus to agility, marksmen get a chance of instant hit, clerics get a 10x/a day healing spell and sorcerers get a bigger chance of casting spell successfully. The first four classes get to be upgraded at levels 8 and 13 where the bonus they get moves from 5% to 10% and from 10% to 15%. The other 2 classes get upgraded at level 10.

ORBS
If you didn't spend your ORBS already, you should have 5 of them. I strongly recommend adding all to your maximum endurance. Every action your character makes takes either 0.5 or 1 point of endurance. You can gain additional endurance from additional ORBS you receive at leveling up; you always receive 3. You can figure out the shooting range formula and so can make about 3 additional ORBS per week. The shooting range formula is a game secret and telling it to others will make the admins jail you. This applies for all game secrets, I will mention them later. The last possibility of gaining endurance if fighting other players. Each winning fight will give you additional +0.02 endurance, but you can lose -0.01 if you lose the fight. This can be maxed out at 35 for normal players and 40 for VIP's. I recommend getting this asap (as soon as possibleboth maximum endurance and VIP's ). You get your full endurance at full reset (20:00 NA time) and half endurance at half reset (10:00 NA time)

Money
There are multiple currencies in Newage. These are gc, pc, chips. You can only get chips for subscribing for offers, donating real cash to the game and weekly voting at TopWebGames (see sector5, voting sites). PC's are a currency that you can exchange for orbs at a rate of 20pc per orb. You can get them by wining battles (you get 5 pc at checkpoints like 50, 100, 200 and so on.) or by materializing them at the temple (will get to that later). PC's aren't really something for newbies so it's good to sell them to high level players either via personalized trades or on the open market. You can usually sell them at a price about 750gc per PC but the prices seems to vary (go up). Gc are the most important and use currency in NA but make sure it's always in your bank account, because if someone beats you with gc at hand they take a part of that money. You can get gc by selling oil, crops, gas, iron and uranium ore at the market, getting from people you beat that had gc at hand, battling the happy bouvier robot (will get to that soon), or spending endurance points either at the employment office or tom's job area on balon (will get to that soon). The employment office (sector5>downtown>employment office) takes into consideration your level and stats (stats I don't know to how far) when calculating how much gc you get per endurance used. The tom's job area at balon takes into consideration your level and it's always better than the employment office. If you want to make gc's the best way is to spend your daily endurance at the temple worshiping. With a maximum of 35 endurance, you get to use 52.5 endurance a day (full and half reset) and these can be spend to make 105 worship points. The ammount of worship points required for materialzation varies according to your level, it tends to go down, but you can make much more gc's form this than both using tom and emplyment office for the first aprox. 6-8 levels. You can also ask the clan to give you a loan of any currency and if you're nice to them you might get it. Note that this affects you clan debt (blue is positive and red is negative) and usually only people who have donated something to the clan get loans. Also, if your debt is negative, you can't leave the clan.

Training
You train your stats at the gym. You need to do a fight in order to be let inside. Whether you win or lose doesn't matter. It is good to get your stats to at least 20 each in the beginning. For description of each stat see the game help section) The training formula is a gamesecret. Preferably insert the number of repeats and go for the result. Training once and then repeating the train is no good unless you want to set the new minimum value each time, as this increases according to your stat. You can also use ORBS to increase your stats. The amount an ORBS gives you depends on the current value, but can't exceed +17, this happens when the stat reaches about 650, I recommend saving your orbs till you get the full benefit of it.. ORBS can also increase your maximum hp's, depending on your level, but higher stats are much more important than high hp. You don't have to be alive to train. There are more-less 4 types of players. Those that go for agility and concentration, those that focus on speed and those that have massive strength and those who have a well balanced character.
It is prefered to have about 100 networth per level.

Levelling up
You level up each time you gather enough experience. You can battle other players where you get approximately exp equal to networth (a value that consists of stat points and health, NOT sum of them) of the other player. You can also fight the robot at the (sector5>commercial zone>happy bouver, but this only gets you a very small exp and gc and you don't train your weapon skill, nor get alliance points or worship points. Anyway you have to be alive to be able to fight the robot and the gc you get goes to your hand and that makes you an attractive target if you have enough. If you battle the robot anyway make sure you put the gc into the bank often enough. You can attack players of +-5levels. That someone has a higher nw and hp than you doesn't mean they have to beat you. I once beat someone who had 250hp and 230nw, I had 110nw and 150 hp. When battling other players, use the battle>view all and then search by criteria. It is recommended to set levels about you level or less, hp status alive or attackable, change deity to 'is not' and choose your deity (you get a deity point for defeating a player with a different deity and lose one if you defeat a player of your deity), in clan choose either 'not in my clan' or 'not in a clan', alliance is important only to the degree that when you have more than 200 or less than -200, you can enter a secret base(the alliance hqpick the opposite of what you want to be, rebels train more speed and upf train power more effectively) and if you want sort them (probably by gc, high to low)

Suitable equipment
You may want to have decent weapons and armor so go check what stuff you can use. You can either buy it, or forge it or get some from the clan armory. If your 0 days old, you can't buy any equipment. There are three weapon and armor types, and to the weapons corresponding skills. These increase with the use of that weapon and help increasing higher damage to the enemy. You can improve your equipment. Either upgrade it on Balon (this increases the weapon level requirement by +1) or temper it with temper stones, you can use both methods. In many cases it is better to wait till more powerful weapons/armor become available. If you just want a few points extra, temper it. Tempering costs 700gc per +1, up to +20, after that its 1400gc per +1. This comes from the price of the temper stones.

Objective: To buff up and kick other people's ass. Once you have enough money and feel like moving beyond Sector 5, you go into space. In space or the Spacial Field, there are planets aka Outposts. Objective is build your outpost (empire) and destroy everyone else's OP. However, it is a lot easier to do this in a clan.

There is no end to the game, in fact because of this... it isn't really a game, because no one wins. But you do get the satisfaction of blowing other people's shit up. :D

Wow, we now have a forum section dedicated solely to newage3? Awesome! Wait 'till I'm level 3 bitches, I'll try to join AoC then.

Buz: It's a little overwhelming at first, but just refer to the help files whenever you're curious about something and you should be fine.

There is a hospital link on the left side of your browser. You can go their to heal yourself.

Also you can have an easier time attacking of you increase your networth by training.

If by battling you mean attacking other players then no. You could go battle the bot in the Happy Bouver, but that is not a very productive way to earn xp.

So basically you have to whack other players. Remember that the higher your opponents networth the more xp they will give. Just don't attack people with networth greater than yours because dying sucks.

ACTUALLY the above statement is not entirely true.

XP is based on the current HP of your opponent AS WELL AS the total NW... sooo someone with 1000 HP and a NW of 500 will give out great XP but soemone with 100 HP and NW of 500 will give out crappy XP

Well, if you have the analyze spell it well tell you everything about them. If it works. Otherwise if you click on their name it should tell you their max HP.

When you level you get a little HP I think, also you get orbs which you can put into Hp. However i would put all my orbs in endurance until you hit 35 endurance. Additionally you can get pc which you can trade in for orbs that you can use for HP.

Also, if you plan on EVENTUALLY buying a Bio Enhancer, SAVE orbs for HP... every time your level goes up, each orb can be used for more and more HP... wait until you have 4 biomods (or 6... some people like to change, but you can ONLY have 4 on an a time), THEN use orbs into HP... yeah it is round battling, maybe use 1-4 orbs in HP when it gets REALLY tough battling, but it is worth it...

Imagine, level 10, 4 biomods and OVER 1500 HP

Not quite there on the cash for the Biomods or the ORBS, but this is awesome in my mind's eye. I might spend some time worshiping just for the PC :D

What does it mean if when you beat someone it says "lost an alliance rank"

Oh and is there a way to increase your block or is just a chance thing?

Well from what I've gathered so far, there are two alliances in newage, the rebels and the UPF. Whenever you kill a member of your opposing side, you gain an alliance rank and vice-versa. I still haven't checked what overall effect this has on the player though.

And agility is the stat that determines how often you block if I'm not mistaken.

This is all explained very clearly in the help files Buz, you should check them out.

Listen to Femto, the help files are your friend.

As for alliance ranks, when you reach 200 in either UPF or Rebel you can go to an allinacegym which lets you train 2 of the 4 stats better than the normal gym does.

I forget which alliance lets you train what better.

Rebel is speed and agility. UPF is Power and Concentration.
