Scan team/mods/Eldo.
Any way you can post a before and after comparison of the unedited Raws vs the enhanced finished product? Maybe a panel/page that required extensive work with editing (fx dialogue etc.) EG always puts out the HQ work and I feel like its unappreciated. PM if you'd prefer.

Re: The Scanslation Process: Before and After
Hi. So it's been so long since the last chapter that I don't remember much so maybe there's better examples to post I don't know. But here's some things:
In general Berserk has much better raws for its magazine releases than like Naruto or Bleach. And they've been especially good recently. Most of the work is cleaning the shity paper/ink quality like this:

-clean: http://i.imgur.com/Klu6RkA.png
It can be hard to tell between what details are and aren't supposed to be there.
But sometimes the raws are shit quality, and we could spend a ton of time and make it nicer, but it's just not worth the time.

-finished page, isn't much better: http://i.imgur.com/onBwmz1.png
-and the volume quality raw: http://i.imgur.com/j54RK3b.png
This was probably the derpyest thing, at least since I've been helping edit Berserk. Normally the middle of a 2 page spread is pretty close and not too torn, but here it was pretty bad and I had to draw Guts' shoe-armor and some monster bits:

-In the volume raw you can see that I drew it wrong: http://i.imgur.com/EpmFdc3.png
We don't replace sfx usually unless they're inside a speech bubble, but they're not very complicated in Berserk, so here's an example from Zetman so that I can show off more:

-Removing original text and drawing in where it went outside of the bubble: http://i.imgur.com/CrRM50u.png
-Derpily laying out where the english text should go: http://i.imgur.com/9N3qOzP.png
-Drawing in the shape of the text, and disregarding the derp layout if it didn't really go as planned: http://i.imgur.com/w903pEA.png
-Making a copy of the original layer and using the clone stamp tool to graft the texture onto the english text: http://i.imgur.com/6kuoroj.png
-Adding black lines around everything and white lines where it goes outside the bubble: http://i.imgur.com/GVMu8V9.png

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for posting, Doc. I wouldn't even know where to begin, as I can't really edit, lol. I like our scans a lot. I think your pointy toe looks even better man. Although I can see where the tanks have better shading, but still our stuff is crisp, and I like that.
