Thanks so much! Really enjoyed this episode and arc, getting to see Gambino and young Guts!! Not to mention his first encounter with an fairie and what this means for us in the fall?! Elfhelm or a return to Griffith? Either way I'm stoked!!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Appreciated, guys.

Hm, well this mini-arc was pretty underwhelming. And it's the only Berserk we're getting for an entire summer...man Miura, you're killing me here bro.
Thanks for the release.

This arc was mostly whatever for me, with the first chapter I got a little excited to see where it was going to go, second chapter kind of killed it for me, third chapter was mostly underwhelming. It was definitely good to see some young Guts mercenary life again but that's about all that was good about this mini-arc. I did enjoy the change of pace though. I wish Miura wasn't so obsessed with fairies.
In any case thanks as always EG.

I feel they'll jump in time win the series return not a huge but like 2 weeks later from the sea god chapter.

I'm not nearly as excited about this manga as I used to be.

I don't believe any of us are. It's still better than half the crap out there though.
Re: Berserk 330 - Spring Blossoms of Another Day (3)
I still love the series. I'm just increasingly angry at Miura for his lax work schedule.
I was spoiled in the sense that when I started this series I had 14 years of accumulated chapters to read through... but I can't think of another manga out there that's supposed to be a bi-weekly with such an erratic release schedule.
It just seems like Miura has lost interest in his own manga... which makes it harder for the readers to keep any interest in it either aside from the time and emotional investment they've put into it over the years.

This mini arc could very well be made years ago.
His erratic work ethic, as much as it discourages the readers, is surely blocking Miura from fulfilling his life's potential.

Maybe he's doing what George R.R. Martin is doing and taking his time. Maybe he's rolling in cash from the OVAs and acting like Neil Patrick Harris and doing blow off a stripper's crack, who knows?

Re: Berserk 330 - Spring Blossoms of Another Day (3)
Actually, I think that's the ideal scenario.
Think about it. What follows relentless hedonism and the pointless pursuit of pleasure, if any self-obsessed rock star autobiography is to be believed?
Abysmal depression, and a jaded and cynical outlook on life.
I'm certain that a Miura that is dead inside and can't get it up unless picturing someone being quartered in a public plaza would produce much better material than the progressively chirpier stuff we have been getting lately.
Hmmm.
Now that I think about it, the almost fetishistic approach to visceral violence that characterized early Berserk faded progressively as it became more popular. May be Miura started being able to afford the horrible, horrible things that he wanted to do to people, and ceased needing Berserk as an outlet.
You know what, it's not a bad theory.
